The Talk Shows
Sunday, August 2nd, 2009
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Rep. Charlie Rangel, D-N.Y.; Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C.; Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Lawrence Summers, director of the National Economic Council.; former Reps. Harold Ford Jr., D-Tenn., and J.C. Watts, R-Okla.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Summers.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner; former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan (Michelle Malkin on Roundtable).
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz; Christina Romer, head of the Council of Economic Advisers.
I thought she did fine too. Obviously they don’t like her, but we already know that and she does too.
Here’s Michelle Malkin on “This Week”
Thanks for the report, cajungirl. For some reason Stephanopolus’ program wasn’t at it’s normal time thie am.....so I missed it. Sounds like I didn’t miss much!
Michelle Malkin was right. The laugh’s on the other three still stuck in their racial bias mode.
Cynthia Tucker thinks it’s just fine to be as obnoxious as you want to the police and no consequences should ensue.
Michelle is finishing strong on the Gatesgate issue.
Al Hunt can’t figure out whether there was any racial profiling. I guess there are some people who can’t think their way out of wet paper bags.
It'll become clearer when numbers come in. Mainly a kiss to the unions.
LOL, Busterbear. Looks like Larry Summers is “Busted” with those reports.
Thanks for that report.
But, more importantly, what are you having for lunch?
Thanks for the post. I think Michelle did a very good job.
There are dozens and dozens of those reports all over the Internet. (Search key, Google = “worst crisis since the Great Depression”.) I don’t know what Larry Summers and Joe Biden are thinking, giving us this drivel. Maybe they are internet-challenged?
I’m listening to Summers on FTN.
How does this man convince anyone of anything?
I just do not see it. He is a collection of talking points that are at odds with reality.
Now Summers is telling us what a great idea cash for clunkers is.
Isn’t he supposed to be an economist?
His main job today was to try and convince people that taking over health care is essential to improving the economy. I think Greenspan kind of blew that one up.
Why don’t any of these talking heads ask them about Medicare? They run that and look what has happened.
Hmmm, Kathleen Parker is on MTP. I think I’ll stop watching.
Mt reaction was identical to yours, cajungirl. And what is with Cynthia Tucker? Looks like she has had an even worse facellift than Pelosi Galore.
Yes, and the same people who thought they could model financial risk and develop techniques to eliminate it, and the people who confidently predicted that the Obama Administration’s stimulus package would hold the unemployment rate to 8%, now have a way for us to save billions on health care (requiring investment of billions of taxpayer money).
Thanks, Michelle was clearly off her game. Steffie actually led off with giving her plenty of opportunity to frame her position, but she didn’t grasp it well. She’s used to addressing one specific issue that she knows about in advance, and the economy is much broader and more elusive than that. But again, she’s got the advantages of being smart and on the right side of the issues. She just has to learn the particular style of Sunday show, gravitas-toned, BSing.
CNBC is actually the network that has bright, articulate and economics-versed female hosts and commentators. It would be nice to see some of them make it into the mainstream.
It's just a bald-faced lie. His brain dead constituents might believe him, the driveby media will agree to cover for him by not telling the truth on this, but we better believe he's lying, as there's simply not enough tax dollars in all that 1% to pay the TRILLIONS of $ this boondoggle will cost.
I'm wondering if people really know what kind of sums the politicians in Washington DC are playing with.
It is a staggering debt we're rapidly accumulating.
No, you’re going somewhere with this:
Money for Maytags
Wads for Whirlpools
Fins for Frigidare
Clams for Kenmore
