It is now going on eight month since President Bush has left office. I thank God for the time he was our President and kept us save after the horrible day on September 11, 2001 For this month thread I will post the August photos from 2001 - 2004. The quote of the day will be President Bushs announcement on the Patients Bill Of Rights, which I find very appropriate being what will face us if the democrats health care bill passes and becomes law

FORMER PRESIDENT GEORGE W BUSH VISITS SMU FOOTBALL PRACTICE
05:42 PM CDT on Monday, August 24, 2009
By KATE HAIROPOULOS / The Dallas Morning News
UNIVERSITY PARK The Mustangs’ Monday morning practice included the standard seven-on-seven, special teams drills ... and the secret service.
Former President George W. Bush also accompanied by SMU president R. Gerald Turner attended the latter part of practice at Ford Stadium and then spoke to the team for a few minutes afterward. He wore a red Mustangs cap for part of his visit.
“He said he’s an SMU rookie, it’s his first year,” coach June Jones said. “I thought that was pretty good.”
Bush talked about his connection to Dallas and the SMU campus including the football program. Bush’s presidential library will be built on the Hilltop in the coming years.
“He was really confident how people have been talking about how we’re progressing,” said kicker Kellis Cunningham, a senior from Carrollton.
Jones had sent Bush a practice schedule and asked him to talk to the team when he could. Jones said he also asked Bush to be involved in events surrounding the Navy game here Oct. 17.
Bush, the former Rangers owner, also talked baseball with Cunningham, who he had met during an SMU journalism class the previous semester.
“It was nice to be able to chat with him again,” Cunningham said. “He’s really pumped about the young pitching staff they have right now.”
