There have always been Friday wackiness threads and a couple of "end-timers" on FR who claim to be on intimate terms with the Big Guy. Most of us ignore them. LGF acts like they've discovered something new.

I don’t know if anyone posted here about that, but someone did mention it on a thread about something else, and I remember replying to it.

Actually, I thought it was a hoot.

Barak Hussein Obama means something like “Holy Hussein is with us” in Arabic.

And in Hebrew (working from memory), it means something like “Lightning falls from on high.” Which recalls several Bible verses and also—although it wasn’t mentioned—a major theme in Milton’s “Paradise Lost.” I saw Satan fall like lightning from the heavens.

Is this just a coincidence? Presumably. I don’t think the Arabic is coincidence, but the Hebrew probably is. And I don’t speculate much about the end times, because of Jesus’ words in the Bible: “No man knows the day nor the hour threof.”

In any case, it’s an interesting story, and you might say that it makes more sense than LGF has been making in recent times. They appear to have lost their minds over there. Too bad. If they keep it up, they’ll lose their audience, since there’s a limit to how many hits a “conservative” web site is going to get from lefties.

This strikes me as a setup hit job. The first few posts on the thread nearly all debunked the post. Scrolling to the end it looks like the thread was hijacked into a theological food fight.

No evidence of FR "freaking out" over this. Fact is I wasn't even aware of the thread until this post. Dunno what this guy's ax is he wants to grind.

There is a long and storied history of people claiming their political foes are the “anti-Christ”.

History has made them look rather foolish.

Who knows, maybe the current crop of “Obama is the anti-Christ” nutters will be the first to NOT look foolish claiming such; but I wouldn't bet on it.
