It is a sad thing when a citizen cannot write a negative, but not threatening, letter to the POTUS without it making them to be perceived as a “security threat.”

Let me tell you the story.

Feb 1998 at the height of the Lewinsky story. I was about to make a trip to DC to serve an eviction notice on the Clintons. Before I went, I called a talk show in the L.A. area to let them know what I was going to do. I said that I knew they wouldn’t let me get close to serve him, so I would blow it up poster size and parade in front of the White House. An a-hole Clinton support heard the call and called either the Secret Service or FBI, claiming that Doug from Upland was threatening to blow up the White House. They actually made the station owners come in on a Sunday to play the tape. A few days later I heard about it and called the FBI field office to identify myself and tell them I was no threat. They said, “We know who you are.” And they knew I wasn’t a threat.
