POLITICO Breaking News: -----------------------------------------------------
Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) has told the Hartford Courant that he has early-stage prostate cancer.
For more information...http://www.politico.com
When my husband’d grandpa got it, his dr said basically (statistically) every man will get it if he lives long enough.
In France, the survival rate for Prostate Cancer is 25 percent.
If you live in the United States and get Prostate Cancer, you have a 93 percent chance of survival.
Seems like a teachable moment, Mr. Dodd ...
OK....so what is the big deal.
Prostate cancer is diagnosed every 2 3/4 minutes in this country. Again, what is the big deal, because it is happening to a corrupt politician? But yeah, lets have a sympathy and pity party for the idiotic moron while forgeting the other fellow who is diagnosed with the same thing 2 3.4 minutes after he Dodd was....maybe we can get a TV news conference from them, as well.... =.=
This is BS.
It’s nothing more than a ploy to get sympathy since he’s getting hammered in the polls.
My thoughts exactly! I don't put anything past them.
I didn't see any breaking news when Imus was diagnosed with it. And I also don't think he was looking for sympathy like Dodd, IMO, when he was diagnosed.
Imus didn't hold a 'press conference at his office' either to discuss a 'private health issue'. So why doesn't Dodd keep it 'private' and forget the press conference/photo op?!
And you're urologist is correct of course.
My suspicion from the get-go.
Yeah, really good survival rates for England, home of the vaunted single-payer health system, eh?
Hm...
Well look on the bright side Mr Dodd, you won’t have a bunch of government types deciding how useful you are to society before green lighting your surgery. :)
Maybe Chris should show a demo on how the government will care for us if we end up with cancer as well. Good opportunity for an 0bamaCare test run.
He should follow the advice of the President and just take some pain pills.
yes.
Don’t forget Rudy.
That would be my take on it, prostate cancer is one of the most curable with the new treatments.
Wow, that is an eye opener. I suppose it will be run on the nightly news by Katy Couric soon.
Mail it to Krauthammer, Drudge, and Hannity.
Surgery scheduled for next week at Memorial Sloan Kettering. No wait list, no local yokel Connecticut surgeon to treat the esteemed Senator Dodd.
A teachable moment indeed. Look at the high survival rates on the USA vs. Socialized Medicine Europe and you can see the money being wasted on the elderly men in America who would otherwise die and reduce the financial burden of medical care. Sen. Dodd should (since he is age 65) get a packaged version of "end of life" counseling, given by a teenage Americorp volunteer, and two aspirins.
I’m thinking Cuba would be better yet.
Hmmm I wonder how socialized medicine would work out for Dodds? What is it, less than 60% survival rate for prostrate cancer in England? Hey, he’s sixty five. Maybe with such a low survival rate anyway we should go ahead and send over some of those federal counselors to his home to educate him on hospice care and end of life options?
