Olympia Snowe, it seems safe to assume, is following the health care debate a bit more closely than the average American.
So it is saying something that the Maine senator a key figure in health care negotiations admits she is stumped by the task of crafting a simple explanation for legislation of mind-numbing complexity.
If anybody can give me an easy, 30-second solution to this multitrillion-dollar problem, be my guest, said Snowe, a moderate Republican.

Sen. Moderate needs a wise latina woman.
30 second solution is easy. Portability, interstate competition, return the decision making to the consumer, not the employer. 80-90% of the problem is solved. Right now, the system (which was built by govt. edict, btw) is broken because it reflects a model long ago abandoned. That individuals tended to stay with the same employee for decades, and then retire.
-- President Barak Hussein Obama (June 24, 2009)That's not hard to understand. Scary, yes, but it is simple.
That's easy: all of you blood-sucking leaches just put down the pens and go home. Leave everyone alone and the problem will solve itself.
Governemnt, YOU ARE the problem. Now go away.
Please get the hell out of the way and spend your time on your constitutionally mandated duties.
Government should do fairly straight forward stuff -- run the courts, defend the nation, etc. They need to stay away from the hideously complex social engineering tasks that no one really understands.
Obama doesn’t know what’s in this bill by his own admission , but thats OK cause it won’t concern him or his family . . .
The bill is overreaching in every single aspect of one’s life and that is the problem in comprehension.
It is simply too much regulation which overlaps other regulations, re-writes others, and truncates citizens’ rights without regard.
Government officials who claim everything from racial discrimination to heartlessness in an attempt to browbeat the opposition are finding that the tactic of demonizing those who oppose is falling flat.
Discuss, stop the demonization. All democrats I’ve talked to over the past weeks oppose this monstrosity.
~All employed democrats, that is...
She’ll vote for it anyway.
Okay Senator Snowe: vote NO on this abomination, which if passed will only make health care worse for any who come under it.
Here’s my 30-second pitch.
Give me a health saving account (HSA) along with catastrophic coverage.
That took about 10 seconds.
The feds can’t even run a simple car trade-in program without 20-page forms and severe cash flow problems.
Snowe “talks nice” but ALWAYS votes in her own best interest, where the money is!
There are two huge government programs going into bankruptcy already, Social Security and Medicare. And both are going to get much worse as baby-boomers retire. Both problems can be solved at once by removing Seniors from the planet, by denying them health-care and persuading them to assisted suicide. Govt. control is necessary in order to make that happen.
It's just that simple.
I'll give you a one second solution, Miss Snowe: Free Market
Olympia would be stymied by a multiplication table.
Hey Snowe, you guys had no problemo with ‘grasping’ the 1073 pages associated with stimulus legislation while you all were throwing around the fearmongering and doomsday card......
Know your role and read the damn healthcare legislation and stop making excuses because to be quite frank, the American people are gorwing very, very weary of all the excuses and meandering....
