I have also heard Evan Bayh will not be coming back to Indiana during August recess.
The cowards plan to ignore us and impose their DeathCare anyway.
I re-read the Declaration a couple days ago as a refresher. I think the next time I read it I might just start putting check marks by the list of grievances...
Its looking ugly back home.
Kit.
Kerry is too busy windsurfing in Nantucket.
There is no point in meeting with my constituents and [to] listen to them
Says a lot for the elected officials. Don't listen to the people you represent. The congresscritters know better than what we do. WTH? Over!
Oh, another thing. Don't read any bills before voting either. Just pass it without reading any part of it and don't allow your opponents to offer any other ideas.
Boo-hoo. Unruly townhalls are the least of their worries.
“I had felt they would be pointless,” ...that boy’s constituents need to go down to his hole and drag him out....
“When a government has ceased to protect the lives, liberty and property of the people, from whom its legitimate powers are derived, and for the advancement of whose happiness it was instituted, and so far from being a guarantee for the enjoyment of those inestimable and inalienable rights, becomes an instrument in the hands of evil rulers for their oppression.
When the Federal Republican Constitution of their country, which they have sworn to support, no longer has a substantial existence, and the whole nature of their government has been forcibly changed, without their consent, from a restricted federative republic, composed of sovereign states, to a consolidated central military despotism, in which every interest is disregarded but that of the army and the priesthood, both the eternal enemies of civil liberty, the everready minions of power, and the usual instruments of tyrants.
When, long after the spirit of the constitution has departed, moderation is at length so far lost by those in power, that even the semblance of freedom is removed, and the forms themselves of the constitution discontinued, and so far from their petitions and remonstrances being regarded, the agents who bear them are thrown into dungeons, and mercenary armies sent forth to force a new government upon them at the point of the bayonet.”
- Texas Declaration Of Independence, 2 March 1836.
Sound familiar? :(

excellent quote
“turning into a house of horrors for members of Congress.”
Well —— that’s what happens when you cozy up to the likes of Na(n)zi Pelosi and Henry Waxman, and say “screw you” to your constituency.
I had felt they would be pointless, Rep. Tim Bishop (D-N.Y.) told POLITICO”
That’s a hell of a lot of arrogance on his part. He must be feeling pretty safe in his congressional seat.
For any congresscritter who refuses to meet with the constituents during the recess, this hands fodder to their challengers next year... and it should.
My critter says he won’t (and never has) hold any town hall meetings during the recess.
Instead, he has “office hours” where you can come in and talk to him.
No thanks. I’ll be in the crowd outside with the sign with a pitchfork and torch on it. I have nothing else to say to him.
No use in listening to the voters. The Dems are above that.
The few emails that I have had answered were form letters that contained nothing more that a pile of sweet-smelling BS telling me how wonderful things are.
Any House member who voted for cap and trade needs to be grilled why, when the evidence is mounting that CO2 is not a culprit in what ever global warming is or is not occurring and India and China have rebuffed any efforts to reduce their massive emissions, should the US cripple its economy especially when it will make no difference in global CO2? Farmers and ranchers should be pushing House members about the EPA cow fart tax which is still very much alive.
Let's give them the hell they deserve so they go back to Washington quaking in their boots.
He will probably have well over 50% votes in the next election too. Every congresscritter is bad, except for MINE. I think term limits is the only solution to this problem.
