Right-wing talk show host Glenn Beck took 24 hours to consider the storm he sparked by branding President Obama a racist - then said it again. Beck took time out on his nationally syndicated radio show to defend his comments, made in connection with the arrest of black Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. by a white police officer. The Fox Network star told his listeners: 'I said yesterday on Fox News & Friends that the president is a racist; I think he has race issues. 'Don't know if he hates whites but there is something going on with the president'Well, I stand by that - I deem him a racist, really, by his own standard of racism - the standard of the left.'

[... Its time to shift gears and stop being Indians
living in the past and be Americans in the present...]
A M E N ! ... again!
Let’s just drop the hyphenated, multi cultural stuff.
Indians are the real Americans. What do you think they call them native Americans for?Geez!
I've been reading a little lately on early American expansion and the Indian Wars. Nobility and savagery on both sides - legitimate land purchases vs driving people from their land, many tribes certainly had less than stellar aspects to their culture, but the European settlers were often no better in their dealings with them (some did plenty of their own scalping, for example). Indians had slaves too - Africans, whites and rival tribesmen - and they were notoriously ruthless in battle toward all, regardless of noncombatant status, age or gender. But stuff like the Trail of Tears - horrifically handled and tragic. A no-win situation in many ways, but a part of American history we can learn from.
I agree.
taxtruth... I know you can type, but can you read?
You don’t seem to be getting anything we’re trying
to say to you.
Thank You!
He’s been infinitely better to me than I deserve :)
Really?
They built this nation from the ground up?
They referred themselves as “Americans” prior to Columbus & Eriksson?
Who are you to say who a real American is?
Perhaps you meant that America is their ancestral homeland?
“I think it might be more correct to say that Obama hates the American society because it is a society created by whites.”
WINNER!!
You guys haven’t spent much time with America history facts so why bother? It’s a waste of time reading dribble.
Totally PC, anti-American, leftist indoctrination material.
Liberals laud it as “undoing the indoctrination you received from your parents” about America.
If it wasn’t for them there is a good chance that the settlers would had never even survived.
You have your facts mixed up with your fiction.
But I’m sure the lights will turn on someday.
I can show respect in regards to a person to another person, in helping or being kind and gracious (even a group to another group), no matter what culture each is from. But, in terms of one culture to another culture — no... they (the Indian cultures) were never going to make it. They were absolutely destined to fail and it’s not the kind of culture that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob would condone. This nation was founded on that kind of culture that the founding fathers carried with them (the Judeo-Christian culture and all that goes with it).
It was, by no means, perfect, but it was far and beyond what God would have ever condoned in the Indian cultures. And, unfortunately, right now, this present culture that we’re living in, is (and has been) turning away from the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob — and as a result, this country will suffer judgment, just like the Indians did on their way of life.
I’m not saying that the U.S. will just as a consequence of going through a “cycle” in a culture and declining, but on the basis of our society’s “wholesale abandonment” of the values of the founding fathers and what they believed and followed (in forming this country) from the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
There is a way out for this country (and it would have been the same for the Indian, too), and that’s “national repentance” and turning to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob for forgiveness. Short of that, we’lll still be receiving God’s judgment (as we are now...) and more of it.
If you mean "the culture is dead and rotting and there is no bringing it back" as chasing buffalo on horseback and living in wikiups and tee pees and going to the shaman instead of a doctor, you are absolutely right. I don't mean this in an insulting way but by your statement, it shows that you are not really up on what is going on in the Indian world these days. The one thing I whole heartily agree on is, we are Americans first but also first Americans. Aloha
I blieve that by the time this 4 years is up, Obama will have set race relations in this country back by 30 years.
True. He sat in Wright’s racist church for 20 years. If my Catholic priest had spoken like Wright (but about blacks), I wouldn’t have sat there 20 minutes.
OUCH! .... Now you’ve done it!
