No, no debating my “benchmark”. That’s why she IS my benchmark.
It’s funny, though, that she doesn’t have much opinion on guns per se. She asked me one time if I owned an “assault rifle”. I turned around and asked her to define what that meant to her. Her vague definition was that of a “machine gun”. I told her that almost no one owns one of those, and that she was being intentionally led to believe that that was what the debate was about.

She asked why? I said, they’re intentionally lying to you. Ask yourself why.

“...She asked why?...”

MrB:
Sorry to jump in, but the question in the comment above struck me as typical of “normal” libs - they (meaning clueless libs - the kind that are NOT hardcore marxists, but simply those folks who don’t/can’t sort through the fog and have been brainwashed by daily doses of politically-correct nonsense) can’t understand how other “Americans” could or would want to do anything like take over the country.

I’ve come to realize that, either because of inadequate education (deliberate dumbing down), a lack of basic understanding of human nature, the daily indoctrination of worrying about we “feel” about things instead of “thinking through” things, and the basic trust that we have as Americans, or a combination of all the above, a large proportion of the American population simply cannot conceive of ANYONE from within wanting to do harm to the country. Gee, least of all not a good, pure, wholesome Democrat - after all, “they’re for us, the Little Guy”...not like those “awful Republicans who are only out for the RICH!...”

I’ve heard this so many times I’ve lost count - and from middle aged folks, old folks, 20-somethings, etc.. folks that should know better by now simply from observation. Hell, just the fact that people joke about “political correctness” - a term that Mao used to KILL people whose thinking wasn’t “politically mature” - shows the ignorance of just we’re up against here. Same with “progressive” - the socialists call themselves something different whenever they start getting found out.

Witness the election; in spite of ample warnings out here on the internet and on talk radio of who this clown and his socialist fellow travelers really are, a large chunk of the population ignored it and pulled the lever (leaving aside the obvious well-documented and typical Democrat vote fraud that comes with every single close election). Folks that buy CBS/ABC/NBC/CNN as gospel because they’re too ignorant or lazy to try to get both sides of an issue, or haven’t been taught how to recognize bullsh*t when they smell it.

Basically, people don’t believe that others are capable of betraying the country because THEY THEMSELVES wouldn’t do it. So we out here look like the “conspiracy nuts” (even though, with a few minutes’ research on the internet, you can find AMPLE historical evidence to support the truth of the matter) due to the nature of the short attention span of folks, the complicity of the media, and the fact that the minute anyone objects to what these people are doing, the other side screams “racist!” to shut down the debate. Middle America has been taught to abhor the very thought of being called a racist, even though the real racists are on the other side of the debate.

In this country, most folks like to give others the benefit of the doubt; and a large percentage of the people that voted for this communist clown are now starting to wake up to the fact that what they actually bought was not actually what was on the label of the package when it was being sold to them.

Hopefully it’s not too late. But history is most definitely our guide; when these b*stards get control of a country it’s almost always disastrous, bloody, and ends badly.
