Anyway, “that can’t happen here” is pretty much all I hear when I point out the historical inevitability of totalitarianism as the result of her ideology.
I’m going to agree with her next time.
“It can’t happen here” because the founders had the foresight (and divine guidance) to ensure an armed populace. Why do you think the left hates individual gun ownership so much? It’s historically obvious.
We both know why they hate individual gun ownership—and they know also. It’s the last defense against their power-grabbing that prevents them from running their Utopian Dictatorship complete with trains to the gas chambers for all who don’t hold their ideology.
No use debating with your inlaw—her mind is made up and the truth will smack her in the face eventually. Next time she visits just break out your gun collection and re-oil them in front of her for added effect.
