There is little doubt that Sotomayor, 55, will be confirmed with majority Democrats backing her solidly and a handful of Republicans joining them.

“...and a handful of Republicans joining them.”

Make that, “...and a handful of RINOs joining them.”

They’ll be replaced come 2010. Many of us are keeping lists. I can’t WAIT for the bloodbath!

People truly have had it up to HERE with this foolishness.

Gee, thanks Democrats. We know you just have the GOP’s best political interests in mind here.

Democrats had better be worried about the backlash they are going to get for all the leftist crap they’ve been pulling, including Sotomayor. I’m serious. Contempt for them is far too nice the word for what people who pay even the mildest attention are starting to feel. Average “Joe-sixpacks” are starting to get really mad. And these are folks who don’t watch what’s going on every day.

Dems warn GOP of backlash for opposing Sotomayor

Greater backlash if Republicans don’t oppose her. IMHO

"opposing the judge who would be the first Hispanic justice"

Didn't the dims shoot down a Hispanic judge that Bush had nominated? So is this really the first Hispanic nomination?

If I remember correctly the Dems opposed the man who would have been the first hispanic on the court and they made him wait over 480 days for his vote, which never came. How long has SoSo waited?

Yeah, I’m sure hard-working hispanics, when they go to the polls in 2010 are going to say hmmmmmm am I better off today then I was 2 years ago? most likely no, but I’m going to vote Democrat because they put Sotomayor on the Supreme Court.

I sure hope you two are right, but unfortunately I don't see it. If conservatism were as strong as all that, the usurper wouldn'tve been elected to start with. This is not to say that it could'nt happen, but, right now I don't see evidence of it. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Absolutely right! If a republican votes for her such as Lindsey Graham they should be held to account for their treason. Yes Political Suicide!

Dems warn of backlash

I don't much care what they warn of . . I don't believe them. This is all posturing for the folks back home.

Like the democrats faced a backlash for discriminating against Estrada?

Frankly, in 2010/1012, if millions of unemployed or underemployed hispanics choose to vote as a bloc for floundering bloviating anti-business, pro abortion democrats, I doubt some GOP votes for or against one pompous latina judge will matter to them about as much as a rat’s patootie

Democrats, too, risk inviting public ire if they are seen to be using Sotomayor's race as a cudgel against Republicans rather than promoting her based on qualifications and record — particularly in the age of Obama's "post-racial" politics.

Threats from The Chicago Thug Aministration and this...

Napolitano: BIG SIS Urges ‘Collective Fight’ Against Terrorism...?

Manning: Whites are going to riot?

Holder: Homegrown Terror Threat Increasing?

Yeah, looks like someone is laying out some discord.
