Mennonite Pastor Nguyen Cong Chinh of Pleiku, Vietnam has been interrogated over 300 times and beaten over 20 times. His house in Vietnam’s Central Highlands is constantly surrounded by police; they fear he will cause religion to develop amongst ethinc minority communities.
His children’s lives have been in constant danger, and in June they were threatened to be skinned alive if Pastor Nguyen did not stop his practice of religious freedom.
His wife was beaten by police, an act that was denied by the police force and the government. She cannot eat, is vomiting blood and is having difficulty breathing, yet the police will not allow her to seek medical attention.
On July 17, 2009 Pastor Nguyen Cong Chinh escaped from his home to seek help, food and medication for his children and his frail wife.
By July 23, 2009 he had been taken into Police custody, condition and whereabouts unknown. This brave Pastor had done nothing wrong, but simply exercised his basic human right of religious freedom.

Prayers for this dear Christian man and his family.
But Walter Cronkite told us we didn’t belong in Vietnam! Uncle Walter wouldn’t have lied to us, would he?
Hope all is well with you Ronnie.
By the way do you know about the predicament that General Vang Pao is in here in Fresno? FReepmail me if you like. I work with a lady whose husband is under house arrest in the same case. I’d be interested in your thoughts if you know anything about it.
Prayer ping. Please ask our Catholic prayer warriors to join us in intercession for this persecuted pastor and his family.
