The Energy and Commerce Committee will resume its markup of healthcare legislation Wednesday afternoon under a deal between Blue Dogs and House leaders, but there will be no floor vote on the legislation before August.
Delaying a vote until August was a key demand of the Blue Dogs, along with reducing the cost of the bill by $100 billion and allowing states to create health "co-ops" that would compete with the government-run "public option" and private insurers.

I still say they’re going to have a floor vote before the next recess.
Whether they vote or not before the recess will determine what I take with me to my rep’s “town hall”.
A sign urging him to vote the correct way,
or a pitchfork and a torch.
The Blue Dogs got elected as good ‘ol boy, tobacky-chewin’, church-goin’, gun-totin’, pro-lifin’ rednecks. This is just cover for them to keep normal people from calling them out as effete, vin-sippin-with-pinkie-sticking-out, Christian-bashing elites during the August recess.
Guy that answered phone...said he will not be voting for Gobment Health Care.....
I said...he better not in any form.
Left it at that..
I have just let my senators know if there is a vote period on the death care or cap and steal they are history. We are tired of their lip service and lies as to why they can’t do anything. It’s over for most of Congress if these bills are voted on.
“reducing the cost of the bill by $100 billion”
oh.. (whew).. that means it’ll only cost $900B. Yeah, good dogs. /sarc
“I still say theyre going to have a floor vote before the next recess.”
I agree, and it’ll happen in the dead of night.
Amen,brother!
Amen,brother!
The math I've been reading, it means the cost will only be $1.5 trillion.
Pelosi and Rahm can threaten them all they want; but if they are not in office(this includes both parties)it won’t matter.
We need to ask “If the plan is so great, why is it good for US but not for THEM?”
The Blue Dog’s got their individual payoffs. The floor vote will be before the recess.
Maybe The Blue Dogs are looking for cover, and maybe they’re really trying to do the right thing, I don’t know, but when the other Congresscum get back to their districts, they’d better listen to the the people and vote accordingly!
The are no Blue Dogs.
They are Red Scum.
“....By reducing the cost by $100 billion, the total price tag of the bill should be brought under $1 trillion.....”
Oh thank God, I really thought we would be in more debt than that. Wow, these guys are amazing how they save here and there.I guess I’ll tell my wife we’ll buy those 2 yachts we do not need to save 10% on the entire deal.

Maybe when some of these clowns are out at recess someone will hit them in the b@lls during dodgeball.
