Hmmm... another question. What would you say is the easiest, simplest way to reduce the size of an image on the Internet?

IOW, is it possible to use any pic on the web (the link) and by adding a "command" or letters to that link reduce the "quality" (or size) of the picture? Without having to save the Pic to my PC, editing it and then placing it on my server service? which is a bit of a hassle.

This is something folks will have to be aware of before they get Picture-posting-happy and start posting very large pictures which is always an issue with dial-up lines. See my point?

You can only control the DISPLAYED size of an image, not its actual data content. To adjust the actual data size (read: download time) you must download, modify, save and re-post to the iNet.

To set the DISPLAYED size of an image, add modifiers to the <img tag like so:

<img src="URL GOES HERE" alt="OPTIONAL DESCRIPTION" width=XXX height=YYY> (width and height units are pixels)

<img src="http://www.rogersrants.com/uploads/RonaldReagan.jpg" alt="Ronald Reagan"> produces the full-sized image:

Ronald Reagan

...while <img src="http://www.rogersrants.com/uploads/RonaldReagan.jpg" alt="Ronald Reagan - Small" width=200 height=143> produces this:

Ronald Reagan - Small
