Competing Brands of Republicanism [RINO Schwarzenegger takes a shot at Palin] [barf]
The New York Times ^ | 2009-07-26 | John Harwood

In this uncertain moment for the party of Lincoln, behold the jaunty, robust specimen of Republican centrism.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger of California strides into a conference room in his Sacramento office with a smile, having wrestled down his state’s mammoth budget deficit in a compromise with a Democratic-controlled Legislature.

. . . . .

Now, across the country, see the slight, dour spokesman for orthodox Republicanism. Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, leader of the shrunken Republican minority, will never be mistaken for a bodybuilder or a movie star.

. . . . .

Mr. Schwarzenegger does not rule out an Obama administration post, and urges the president to press ahead with a health care overhaul that tracks his own failed push on the issue in California.

“People say, ‘Well, he has taken on too many things,’ ” Mr. Schwarzenegger said of Mr. Obama. “But if he doesn’t take on the too many things, then they say, ‘Well, he hasn’t taken on enough.’ ”

Contrasting his approach with that of Sarah Palin, the conservative celebrity who has quit the Alaska governorship, he concluded, “I would never give up.”

well, if the choice is a party that embraces Obama or one that will fight him, it is pretty obvious we must choose the second. our party has never lost a national elections for being too conservative.

Ping to FR favorite, Liz.

Elizabeth, Governor Speedo goes too far when he believes he can pettily snap at the grand lady of Alaska.

RINO’s are stampeding.

If the liberal media really thought it was over for Palin they would not be spending so much time attacking her.

BINGO. Like Romney and Powell supporting Obama at Election-pucker-time,
those are 'signs' of 'wellness' to a scumbag RINO.

The girlyman of the century who gave in to the dems in his own legislature is daring to criticize our Sarah.

Hey Arnold, pull up your pantyhose and get to work.

“I would never give up.”

She is not "giving up". She doesn't have to, because unlike you, Gov'nor, she is leaving when her state is in pretty good fiscal shape. If you want to compare "brands," start by comparing the management, or mismanagement, of the respective states.

Arnold you're not battling frivolous lawsuits everyday either.

You've also spent your state in bankruptcy, Governor.

Mr. Schwarzenegger, if he had any pride left in him, should be keeping his mouth shut and his witless head down. Anyone with such an ability to make a state more of an absolute mess than it originally was, should be getting relentless ridicule himself.

I never thought I’d see such absolute insane stupidity become the norm.

One thing about Arnold - he will do anything to get ahead. Even destroy an entire State - should fit nicely in the 0 administration.
