amusing how the recent democrat presidents, workin’ for po’ folks on the democrat plantation,
have to head out to be with the ultra rich that they despise.

As unemployment passes 10% and average Americans struggle to make ends meet, Obama goes on vacation at a $50k per week rental. A real man of the people.

Will Cindy be protesting there like she did in Crawford during President Bush's vacation?

Those who fight capitalists and fascists (and racists) on behalf of the workers are entitled to these tokens of gratitude which are cheerfully given on behalf of the workers.

I wonder if the 50 grand includes a security deposit to clean the place up after they trash it.

The Boston Herald reported that First Lady Michelle Obama and daughters Malia and Sasha would arrive at Martha's Vineyard mid-August with the president joining them a few days later.
It is assumed that Grandma (Michelles mom) and their dog Bo will be joining them as well.

...Obama was due on the island for the last week of August and was expected to pay the rental out of his own pocket. I wouldn't bet a nickel on that happening.

I’m imagining what the MSM would be saying if President Bush and Laura, in the middle of the worst recession in 60 years, spent a week at the ‘Southfork Ranch’ the guest of JR Ewing.

The senator was running a bit late; but when he finally glided into the auditorium, escorted by an assortment of aides, he was greeted by a tremendous swell of applause as he took to the stage. Dressed in a brown jacket and red tie, Obama approached the podium, flanked by two giant screens enlarging his image, and began a softly spoken but compelling speech that recalled his own days, after his graduation in 1983 from Columbia University, as a community organizer in poor neighborhoods of Chicago. Youll have boundless opportunities when you graduate, he told the students, and its very easy to just take that diploma, forget about all this progressive-politics stuff, and go chasing after the big house and the large salary and the nice suits and all the other things that our money culture says you should buy. But I hope you dont get off that easy. Theres nothing wrong with making money, but focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a poverty of ambition.
