Ok, I'm going to go way out and a limb here (and pull on my fireman bunkers, too.), but wasn't Huck a former So. Baptist preacher? As I understand it, most Baptist churches have an issue with women in leadership (ministerial) positions. Could that be where some of his ire comes from?

I'm friends with a man who is a preacher with Baptist leanings and that po’ feller absolutely HATES her-but is hesitant to say exactly WHY he does. I can't help but wonder if maybe that is a reason. It doesn't make any sense, since she embodies all the values that we as Christian Americans hold dear. I'm beginning to think a lot of these folks would prefer she stay in the kitchen, so to speak, and not be an example or leader.

Anyone else thinking this? I am way off base?

That has no bearing with Huckabee .... what he is, is a shallow dirtbag manipulator that will use anything to get what he wants.

The So. Baptist Convention has many women in roles of leadership. The seminaries have a high percentage of men/women mix.

But quite frankly, the huckster has always been more politician than preacher ... his past speaks for itself. It is called “self-first” It is who he is and who he has always been.

No, you’re not. I’ve always heard that about southern Baptists. I went to a christian school in Oklahoma and one of my classmates told me that this SB guy came up to her and told her she was going to hell for wearing pants. She couldn’t believe it, neither could I. We just steered clear of him for the rest of our schooling. I imagine his head has been exploding for the past 11 months now.

I don’t see that. I am Baptist and I know a Baptist preacher and many, many Baptist friends and all are for her.

You can remind your friends that the Lord raised up Esther to save the Jews from destruction. In the New Testament, woman aren’t supposed to be over men in ministry/teaching the Word. Maybe Sarah is being ‘raised up’ for a similar reason; to save the US from destruction.

She's done her time in kitchen. Five kids prove that. And I would not consider any media-overblown family issues as disqualifiers for any goals or dreams she may entertain.

While I am not a fan of ordaining women for reasons(Scripturally based) that I will not delve into here, I think that care needs to be exercised when trying to bring Scriptural prohibitions into areas where they may not apply, such as women in elective office. What I see Sarah doing is filling a vacuum of leadership and character created by compromising RINOS such Huckabee and Romney and McCain and the rest. What really shines her star is her credibility. She doesn't have to proclaim that she is one of us, we know it instinctively! And we laugh when these other RINO clowns choke on their own proclamations of commonality. They are pitifully transparent. We are so over them.

I think your friend is just jealous because he's not Todd Palin!

Huckabee is a modern day Elmer Gantry. Sarah is authentic and Huckabee knows it. His phoniness can't compete with her authenticity. And he knows it.
