Naturally, because of the disparity in numbers needed by party, Obama would claim it was the Republicans who sank his ship. And the way Americans are lining up against this atrocity, that should booster Republican poll numbers.

I agree. Here in PA, the legislature sometimes votes on thing like pay raises in the middle of the night when no one is paying attention. Congress could do the same.

I understand its closer to 40 - 45 blue dogs. 178 + 40 = 218 vs 217 makes it very close. All they have to do is knock off 6 - 7 votes and Piglosi wins.
