Obama is one who acted "stupidly"
American Thinker ^ | July 24, 2009 | Bob Weir

From the moment a police officer dons that uniform, he/she becomes a symbol of authority, and it becomes obvious very quickly that most people in a free country resent authority. It could be the guy who gets pulled over for speeding or passing a red light; it could be the guy who's clobbering his wife during a family dispute, or it could be a guy who breaking into a residence that turns out to be his.

Although these are situations in which the police must take action, their authority will usually be resented. It's the type of job in which you are damned if you do, and damned if you don't. When a neighbor called police to the Cambridge, Massachusetts neighborhood next to Harvard University, she said there were two men breaking into a home. Sergeant Jim Crowley, a sixteen year veteran of police work, took the call and arrived at the scene to discover that the door had been jimmied and two men were inside.

It turned out later that it was Henry Gates, a Harvard professor, and his chauffer. Unfortunately for Sgt. Crowley, Gates did not have his name and address tattooed to his forehead. Therefore, it became necessary for the sergeant to ask him to show his identification.

IMHO, the most revealing thing about the issue with Gates is that he is so clearly another person and instance of a pattern that fits Obama's other "close friends".

Racist, hate filled, angry, people who detest traditional America and the free market and whose seething hatred is only just below the surface...and in some cases always out in the open. Frank Davis, Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, Jeremiah Wright, Henry Louis Gates, even his own wife, Michelle (by her own admission)...and the list goes on and on.

There is a clear pattern here that the MSM not only knows, but refuses to report. And that is because most of them share this hatred.

Obama and all those pushing his radical agenda are abject marxist ideologues. Their "fundamental; change" is nothing more than a destruction of the American free market and fundamental republican principle.

We have to face facts: Our President is at best a fool...and at worse a terrible danger to our republic.

Obama apparently thought the racist Harvard professor was arrested for breaking and entering his own house. Not true. The arrest was for tumultous and disorderly conduct— witnessed by the cop. Now who is “stupid”?

The primary reason many Americans voted for Obama is because he was able to appear “safe” and not a radical black like Sharpton or Jackson.

Americans are now starting to see that Obama is much more like Sharpton and Jackson than they ever could believe.

As Obama’s poll numbers drop and his agenda gets sidetracked, this side of his personality will come out more and more.

It seems pretty coincidental to me that this incident with Gates took place just when it did. I mean when Obama’s support is tanking; and his health care plans are being blown apart we suddenly have a racial incident? And this guy, who is admittedly a friend of Obama’s is the center of it? Come on now, seems to me there is something fishy about this. Something planned to fan the flames and arouse the support of the race that put BO in the WH. And just enough of an event, without any blood spilling, gun fights, arm wrestling, etc. that became a topic during a Press Conference about Health Care...and Obama addressed it?

It is a bit too smelly to me. Could these guys have talked and planned this? Hmmmmm???

As to his poll numbers. Submarine captains say it best...”Dive, dive, dive!”

IMHO I think they are so out of touch within the inner circle that they might think a “racial incident” like this will be a distraction for the kill-care debacle to be passed in the dead of the night, but the ramifications of pulling a nationwide Detroit are immeasurable. While the infantalized media screeches on the rest of the world looks on and forms its own opinions at our looming tragicomic decline.

Did anyone notice during bam’s “town hall metting” that he used the phrase, “not one dime, not ONE thin dime,” again? That is what he said about no new taxes for 95% of the American people. I took it to mean many, many more than one dime, but most people believed what he wanted them to believe.
He knows exactly what he is saying.
Many, many more this time too. He is killing us, US.

I agree with the previous poster in that this does smell fishy. The cops handcuffing him was ridiculous, the guy is dressed like a Harvard Professor. Anyone has a right to be angry with officers coming into their home uninvited and demanding they do things (that is not the America I love). Just because some loony neighbor who doesn't even live in the neighborhood says you did something does not mean you are guilty or should be treated any different than an innocent person.

Apparently, the officers followed protocol and will not be punished (which I find very odd, normally you would think they would be ruined after seen doing something like this) and the professor gets to make a big race spectacle and have Obama chime in. This stinks to the moon. If it is phony propaganda for Obama, I wouldn't be shocked at all.

It does not really matter if he did have an I.D. with his address on it. Nor does it matter if he was dressed in a suit & tie.

Most cops usually are aware of and on the look out for domestic violence when going to homes.

How many men have moved out on an ex-wife and still have an i.d. with their shared address on it. If that is the case, the man can be “dressed to kill” with matching i.d. address and then break in with the purpose of killing ex and family. Did anyone even bother to think this might have been what any typical policeman would wonder about or be on the lookout for?

Even a fake address that has been purposely made up to match up his victim’s address with such thief dressing up to the max with chaffeur look alike cohort coming to help in the crime.

You're very young, aren't you? Or have never owned property? Never had a break-in?

The most recent time I was mugged at gunpoint, the guy was dressed pretty much the same way Gates was dressed -- polo shirt and slacks.

If not for my loony neighbors over the years I lived in a city, my car would have been stolen on one occasion, my house set on fire on another, and my home invaded on yet another occasion. Attitudes like yours -- that police protection is automatically assumed to be corrupt or illegal -- convey to all the robbers in Gates' area that his block is ripe for picking, since no neighbor is going to think it's worth the hassle to report a possible break-in.

Is it any wonder black kids are disrespectful and constantly challenge the police? And anyone who would “resent” a policeman who is at your house to protect you and your family, is a race-pimping punk... I don’t care how many “honorary scholarships” he has.

Well, I'm from the old school of thought that if a uniformed officer requests that you do something, you do it PERIOD! It comes from the school of hard knocks
Like a lot of motorists, I have had incidents with traffic tickets etc., where I became POed when stopped. The most recent incidents (three of them in succession, 5 years ago) involved my libertarian belief that I could refuse to wear a seat belt while traveling through the state of Maryland. On the first occasion I was detained by a black Maryland State Trooper and, on second, a white "County Mountie".

I found the trooper to be extremely courteous, even when I berated him about his "stupid state's laws that infringed upon my liberty to decide whether or not I should wear a seat belt,"; I found the deputy to be extremely rude, and offensive even though I didn't give him as hard a time. In the final case, I was again detained by a state trooper (white) and this time I was as courteous as I could be, even thanking him for stopping me "how could I have been so forgetful?" I said. I got off with a warning citation.
In the first two cases I was wrong because the police were just doing their jobs and, in both cases, I ended up paying a $50 fine plus suffering a hike in my insurance premium. In the last case I tried to go out of my way to do what was asked of me and got a wrist slap.

I am very bothered by the way that Prof. Gates behaved. Most of the academia I was ever associated with while in college seemed to believe their bowel movements didn't have odor because they could put a Ph.D. after their names. I studied at both the University of Georgia and Minnesota and can truthfully say that the experience was left me with the belief questioning how so many self-important arrogant bastards and bitches could get into institutions of higher learning. And Gates, IMHO, is just another in the long line of them. He is just another a self-seeking wanna-be race victim and, if Harvard were really a place of Platonic educational standards, it would fire him for cause! (Then, again, that would be wishing that the Tooth Fairy was real and that even tenured professors had to act like law-abiding American citizens instead of a-holes).
