Huckabee Leads 2012 GOP Pack -- or Does Romney? [hurl alert]

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is atop the standings of 2012 Republican presidential candidate prospects in a new poll.

A Washington Post/ABC News poll conducted from July 15 through July 18 places the rock-music-playing evangelical as the favorite of 26 percent of Republicans and GOP-leaning independents, 5 percentage points ahead of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, 7 points ahead of soon-to-be-former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and 16 points ahead of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

The also-rans (below 5 percent) in the Post poll were retiring Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (4 percent), former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (3 percent) and Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour (1 percent). Two percent volunteered support for Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, even though his name was not provided by pollsters.

Absolutely NO to both. These two are a re-run of 2008. Our country is at stake and neither one of these has the gonads to lead the nation back from the brink.

If Romney becomes the GOP poster boy, I will shift to Independent status.

Judging their records, they’re both just like Obama, except with better hair and the others pro-life.

Bottom Line: I will not vote for either of these two, period, and the republicans will lose again if either is on the ticket.

As Ann Coulter has taught us well, we understand what this is... the Marxists have begun picking our losers for the next campaigns.

That being said, I really like Huckabee, but I think he has found his notch as a Conservative Radio personality (where he does a really good job, has a great radio voice, etc.) and I hope Huckabee is smart enough to realize that.

We need some new blood. I like Palin but just over hearing the water cooler talk at the office she is poison. The media has destroyed her and to be totally honest she has not helped matters.
Romney is a loser who had one the highest dollars spent per voter in electoral history.
I really would like to see some of the relative newcomers like Jindahl, Daniels, Barbour.

Just what we need — a nanny-stater to follow Obama’s presidency. [/s]

If we get another RINO so be it - I could give a damn, I wont vote for him. Its all about local politics now - tell the federal govt to go to hell and lets see what they do. Either we are sovereign states or the constitution is a piece of toilet paper (btw barry proved that by not showing his bc).

I’m just curious what your objection to Romney is? He wasn’t around in the last campaign long enough for me to pay attention. The fact he is a Mormon doesn’t bother me in the least. We’re not electing the Pope... (and I’m a Southern Baptist in any case) but he does believe in God, seems decent, and has a Presidential demeaner. Made some great speeches last year. What are the objections? Is he pro-abortion? A RINO?

Out of 330 million people in this country and we can’t find anyone new? I have my doubts that either could win an election.

Ah....the best of the worst.

Once again, the media tries to pick our candidate for us.

If all the people let the media decide who runs for the Republican party again I may not vote this time or go Independent

Romney is pro government run health care and conveniently pro-choice or pro-life depending upon the mood of the electorate of the office he seeks.

Give her time...she is all ready repairing her image...IF she runs in 2012 she will become unstoppable...which is exactly why she is being dealt with in the manner she is by the MSM....
