LA Times media critic James Rainey wrote today that Lou Dobbs continues raising questions about Barack Obama's birth certificate on his radio show, and in doing so, is offering "a platform for assorted wing nuts."
Rainey's piece follows Dobbs' bashing the "national liberal media" -- and specifically the LA Times -- on his radio show Tuesday. In looking at Dobbs' claims that there are still questions to be answered, Rainey spoke with Brooke Jackson, director of the Annenberg Political Fact Check, which debunked the theory last August.
"CNN should be ashamed of itself for putting some of that stuff on the air," said Jackson, who worked at the cable outlet for more than 20 years.
Besides [fill-in host Kitty] Pilgrim's skin-back report last week, one CNN employee reminded me several times that Dobbs' most pointed assertions were made on his radio program, which is unconnected to CNN.
Indeed, CNN tells TVNewser that the network isn't involved in the radio show.

“CNN should be ashamed of itself for putting some of that stuff on the air,”
You mean a bona fide story about the legitimacy of Obama’s Presidency? Yeah, you’re right...CNN isn’t into true journalism.
sprong!!! what was that? Where is that water coming from.
LOL liberal ship lollypoop going down.
This crisis is probably firing up ol’ Adolph Axelrod. He gets jazzed when his propaganda machine needs to be sent into battle to fool the people. It is interesting that the Obama goons try to deflect attention by pointing the each other ... Axelrod has reporters hint that Rahm Emanuel is behind the smears of ‘birthers’, Emanuel sends instructions to faux journalists to hint that Axelrod is defending Obama, etc.
It’s real simple, show your birth certificate, Soetoro, and make it all go away...if you can, punk.
and when a soldier questions the commander in chiefs order.. based on citizenship of Obama.. then they rescind the order.. seems like a newsworthy item..
The DNC must’ve faxed out a memo on this today, every wire and blog has made it a talking point today.
Why did the media suddenly revise the history when it came to which hospital in Hawaii that Barack Obama was born at?
If we had a legitimate “long form” birth certificate, such details would be on it, right?
Why spend money fighting this in court if the document had already been released? Just wave it in the court room as evidence and the court cases go away. RIGHT?
Anything that deflects the Baraqqis from their primary mission of enslaving us is a wonderful thing.
I haven’t been watching this in close detail - can anyone recommend a site or link which outlines all the details of the argument?
Also, how does Annenberg claim it has “debunked” the story?
thanks!
Isn’t everyone’s birth certificate available online? DMV and the FBI said it would be sufficient for me to prove who I am by these means.
Now I understand. And here I thought he was articulating this concept on his tv show. Still....
I, for one, think Birthers are wasting their time. And I think it’s perfectly acceptable for news outlets to call a spade a spade, and a conspiracy theory a waste of time.
However, this overreaction irks me. Why the need to push the theories down and exlcude them from polite conversation? Why can’t it just be out there, in the open? What’s the harm? If Birthers are so darn crazy, their nonsense will disappear.
I, for one, would never cast out discussion of Bush’s stolen election, the 9/11 conspiracy, the JFK conspiracy, and other crazy nonsense. In fact, I love it when arguments are easy to win. The crazier the better. The MSM should be kissing Birthers’ feet. They give them the perfect opportunity to call conservatives crazy.
Isn’t William Ayers associated with Annenberg?
Kitty Pilgrim is hot!
Guess CNN finally is having its knuckles rapped for not ENTIRELY mouthing the leftist propaganda that See-BS and the rest of them grind out.
Lou Dobbs is great. He hits both parties when they screw up and the libs only want him hitting Republicans.
CNN should be ashamed of itself for putting some of that stuff on the air,
CNN needs all the revenue it can get.
... well they "are" the "most trusted name in news" (according to them!) /sarc
What could be more serious than that the Pres__ent is not qualified legally?
bttt
Well, Mr. Axelrod, if the public had the right to see all of Jack Ryan's divorce records, why can't the public see an actual physical, certified, copy of Barry's birth certificate?
