WASHINGTON, July 22 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama shifts his effort to convince the American people healthcare reform is the right thing to do right now to prime time Wednesday.
In an evening news conference, Obama is expected to outline the case for healthcare reform as well as provide an update on what has been accomplished since he took office in January.
White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel told The New York Times Obama intends to use the news conference as a "six-month report card," to talk about "how we rescued the economy from the worst recession" and the legislative agenda moving forward, including health care and energy legislation.

What a f**king liar is Obama.
Too much Obama on tv... people are weary of him. I predict the viewing audience will be down tonight.
Oh, King Obama, if you have to tell us how much youve accomplished, um, youre already in trouble.
I so agree.
Think about it. This is the absolute worst thing he could do tonight, to get on TV and try to spin what we all see happening around us. I'm glad he's going on, in the end it will be his arrogance that will be his downfall.
His polling is already plummeting, after tonight it'll go into freefall, and that will be a good thing for everyone, including the markets.
I think it's just plain, ol' ignorance.
They know nothing other than what someone has told them.
They can't do the math because no one has showed them the figures.
SURE they do!
(But who is REPORTING it?)
We need to BUY BACK THE MEDIA~!
The government decides who lives and who dies.
Demand Obama to tell us why the House and Senate (and Representatives and Senators) will not be covered by THIS medical plan.
I can’t wait to hear Obama tell the story of his mom dying from cancer, and how that episode inspired him to fight for healthcare reform. /s
Except he’s not pitching healthcare. He’s pitching government controls.
Yes - and first we can drive the networks down to dirt-cheap prices by boycotting them and their sponsors.
blah blah blah blah blah
as well as this...
Tune in TOMORROW For The Obama Show: Same Moonbat Policies, New Moonbat Time.
I’m tempted to watch simply to see if he takes questions after his speech and if so, how easy the media goes on him this time.
Maybe there will be another Helen Thomas “moment” like with that idiot Gibbs.
If the media turns on him it will indeed be his Waterloo.
We need a professional photoshop for tonight’s presentation with Obama’s face in the classic Baghdad Bob pose.
This is true. I deal with the public at my job and it’s amazing how many of them will start a conversation about how upset they are with the economy, the health care debacle, the way things are going in general, etc. A lot of them are really, really angry.
Back to the comfort zone for Obama — campaign mode. ...with a fawning, compliant national media at his back.
