Obama has become nothing but a communist juggernaut and our country is in his path.

I’m a Cornyn supporter. and have found him to be dependably honest (a rare thing in Congress)

You rock, Cornyn!!

I’ve found that behind every local tree worshiping, animal worshiping, environmentalist, there’s a larger corporate/government interest. There lies the key to stopping them. Become more self-sufficient. There are always ways to do so. Don’t buy anything that you don’t need, and encourage them to spend even more. After the defaults, we’ll get new leadership at all levels.

The liberals have the Miranda rule.
Conservatives can have the Cornyn rule.

And I really don’t enjoy pointing this out, but notice that most of them have German surnames.

Grazing cattle have “rights”..... and somewhere between medium-rare and medium is usually just about “right.”

Awesome. Sunstein is one of Obama’s closest friends, so this should piss him off headed into his Wed network PR stunt.

“Senators are permitted “holds” to prevent a vote on a nominee from coming to the floor.”

more than “nominees”....

“Senate tradition allows any senator to keep a piece of legislation from reaching the Senate floor by placing a hold on the bill.”

Obama shouldn’t have insulted those bitter clingers. Now he’ll never be rid of them until they’re rid of him.

Sen. John Cornyn, "holds the confirmation" because he is concerned that Cass would push a radical animal rights agenda..

How about also having some concern for preserving free speech?! Cass intends to violate the First Amendment with the Government regulation of speech on the Internet.

That whole silly "freedom of speech" thing must be of no bother to the confirming Senators. But, hey, at least the animals won't have a radical agenda pushed on them. /sarc

".....specifically the fact that he wants to establish legal 'rights' for livestock, wildlife and pets, which would enable animals to file lawsuits in American courts,"

I don't see the problem. The very first action should be a civil suit for wrongful death filed on behalf of the fly swatted by The Usurper two weeks ago.

It should be accompanied by a simultaneous criminal action for murder.

Cornyn's spokesman said the senator will be happy when he gets direct assurances from Sunstein that he will not pursue an agenda akin to some of his past writings, particularly on the animal rights issue.

"Sen. Cornyn hasn't had a chance to speak with him yet, that's the reason for the hold," said McLaughlin. "He wants to have a chance to before moving forward."

This doesn't seem very reassuring. Saxby Chambliss dropped his objection after he got assurance in writing from Sunstein.

Will Cornyn go through the same theater and then drop his hold? After all, when was the last time a liberal lied?
