WASHINGTON, July 20 (Reuters) - President Barack Obama said on Monday the August deadline he had set for Congress to pass initial healthcare legislation may "spill over," but repeated that he wanted reforms enacted soon.
"I want this done now," Obama said in an interview on the PBS program "The Newshour with Jim Lehrer."
"Now, if there are no deadlines, nothing gets done in this town. ... If somebody comes to me and says, it's basically done; it's going to spill over by a few days or a week -- you know, that's different," he said.

This is like, really, really creepy weasel-like wording....is he backing down by trying to ACT like he isn't? Something along the lines of 'depends on the meaning of the word "is" ' and all of that crap?
Maybe Uhbama needs to learn that just because HE wants it done NOW does not mean it is going to happen without congressional consent BECAUSE, poor baby, he is the President of a democratic republic...at least for now.

I’m hoping that as people smell weakness and a little blood in the water, they will become emboldened to stand up to this weasel. It’s the steady drip, drip, drip of expanding statism that’s building up to a Hurricane Katrina. Health care takeover may be the most volatile issue of all in a long line of abuses. I was on a pleasant drive in the country today with my daughter, and the subject of the Panthers’ voter intimidation came up. I think both our blood pressures shot up as we discussed how our rural conservative voting poll officers would have handled that nonsense. Those thugs would have been whisked off the premises in a New York minute. The fact that they were let off is just another bucketload of sludge piling up on the levee.
