Yet all Democrats -- with the exceptions of acting chairman Chris Dodd, Barbara Mikulski and Ted Kennedy via proxy -- voted nay.

Sherrod F*n Brown. OHIO

I guess Kennedy voted 'no' on Kopechne 40 years ago today, too.

Could there possibly be any better HARD EVIDENCE that the power-grabbing nightmare of socialized medicine is really bad for those that must suffer it??? Ask Britain, ask Canada. Ask the DemoRats that won’t touch it - no they want to stay HEALTHY with their gold-plated, UNCONDITIONAL, infinite FREE health care paid for by the taxpayers.

The ideological sickness that is driving this egregious disaster must be stopped.

Just tell your congressional representative—all I want is the same plan you and your staff have!! And watch them back down—this is proof that Obamacare is NOT about health insurance...

I smell the stench of hypocrisy all the way from Washington. Are you telling me the U.S. political elite have special HC provisions separate- and superior in every way- from the People whom they are foisting this catastrophic, unwanted legislation upon, and they fully intend to cling to it? *Shocked*

Here we have the biggest issue, imo, and I'm pleased to see someone else running with it. They need to answer off teleprompter to this. We should all demand it!

Obamacare is for the unwashed masses. The elitists on Capitol Hill need real healthcare. Bass turds.

It doesn’t matter if they are enrolled in the plan. Politically connected individuals can always pull strings to obtain preferential treatment from government offices. Today they can get parking tickets “fixed”; tomorrow they can get access to advanced treatments that are not available to ordinary citizens.

Cynics might be inclined to believe that is the point: government-run health care will help keep the sheep under control, and provide superior benefits for the ruling class and anybody they wish to bribe or reward.

Start causing “trouble” for the elites (Joe the Plumber, Frank Ricci) and people close to you will have procedures denied, operations canceled, and private records leaked to the internet. It’s part of the soft tyranny.

For PR purposes, it’s too easy for them to realize they can accept this for now, and then change their program after the package is passed.

So, if we ask them to take the “common man” health package, they view themselves as a ruling class, and in the long run, that will be what guides them.

“the Senate health committee voted 12-11 in favor of a two-page amendment courtesy of Republican Tom Coburn that would require all Members and their staffs to enroll in any new government-run health plan.”

So, if health care reform passes...they’ll ALL have to have the same health care we are stuck with?

What needs to happen is for all government employees, including Congress, to draw Social Security when they retire, and have the same health care they are trying shove down our throats or go on Medicare when they retire. Then when they say they feel our pain, we can believe them.

Here are a few pretty good articles about Germany & the UK’s health care that I found several months back.

I can’t imagine one informed person wanting to accept this type of health care system.

And more problems in the UK:

And some info on 5 countries public health care systems:
