Debbie Schlussel versus Sarah Palin (multiple articles)
debbieschlussel.com | 2008-2009 | Debbie Schlussel

Posted on 07/18/2009 4:29:37 PM PDT by EveningStar

I'm not a regular reader of Debbie Schlussel nor am I a fan (she seems a bit low class at times), so I just became aware of her criticism of Governor Palin.

If you scan the archives of her site debbieschlussel.com you will see that she was an early supporter of Sarah Palin. That makes her criticism all the more interesting.

Here are ten articles from Debbie's site. In the first one, she is still a Palin supporter, but also criticizes her for her choice of baby names. Beginning with the second article, she really begins to tear into her.

My God, what’s happening to us? Obama’s pushing crap-and-trade, socialist health care, a racist Supreme Court nominee, and surrender to Iran, and all we can do is fight amongst ourselves?

No, all some can do is focus on the rebellious actions of a teenager and trash her conservative mother while the country goes to hell in a hand basket. Yet, I have yet to see one Palin hater offer a decent and electable conservative candidate.

And yet you STILL can’t give the name of anyone you’d support, can you?

Debbie, Parker, Quinn and Noonan have all exposed themselves as nothing more than elites harpies who continually use tabloid-style attacks on Palin and her family, and find the most shallow arguments against her politics.

If I've said it before, I'll say it a million times... there are some women who, for whatever reason, regress to their reptilian brain and base all arguments on sex. And when I mean sex, I mean using the qualities of a woman against her while trying to put their womanhood on a pedestal. For some reason, Sarah Palin is a threat to them and their womanhood. Its basic psychology. I've worked with women like this and they are the most vindictive, backstabbing bitches in the world. The kind who will bat their eyes and shed tears to a male boss, and turn around and be a ball busting bitch to everyone else.

Its clear the PDS among alleged conservative writers goes to a level that defies all rational explanation. Noonan and her ilk are borderline obsessed with Palin, almost as bad as the nutjobs over at Kos and DU.

Actually, there is another course of action. That course would entail declining McCain’s offer to run with him so as to avoid national, public disclosure of her daughter’s indiscretion.

Well, not entirely. She was/is in public life in Alaska, and probably had aspirations beyond that. It would be used later as well.

At the time palin probably did feel that a marriage would happen. i’m impressed that she excepted her daughters decision (I believe it was her daughter who started cooling the relationship). If Palin was the blind ambitious bitch that the media at times would like to potray her as, she would have tried to convince her daughter to marry Levi. But she and her husband seem relieved that did not happen.

Palin really does believe that family and politics should be seperate. Maybe its naive. But what did Obama say - same thing?

You’ve heard of Godwin’s Rule of Nazi Analogies - As a discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches.

I’m inventing a new Donna’s Rule of Failed Palin Reasoning - As a discussion reveals the truth about Palin’s positions, the probability of the last-ditch “name anyone you’d support” reply approaches.

Anyone who objects to neglectful Feminist mothers is going to be chagrined.

Donn, are you calling working moms neglectful?

Will, we can pretend otherwise if you’re one of them. Political correctness is always an option.

You know, when the GOP has another governor who’s been taking intercontinental junkets on the state dime to hook up with his Argentine mistress, and a senator who’s been boinking one of his staffers (who’s married to another of his staffers) and getting his mommy and daddy to pay off the girlfriend...you know, actual adult politicians, rather than their teenage kids...you’ll forgive me if somehow I find Bristol Palin’s misadventures with Levi Johnston, regrettable as they may be, not even remotely as problematic as Debbie does.

Donna, I defend things that are right even when I'm not "one if them", in this case working mothers. Is that a foreign concept to you? Do you only defend those who are "one of you"?

The working moms I know don't neglect their children.

If you're waiting for a perfect candidate, you're going to have a long wait. It's not going to happen.

Between leaving one's wife because she had suffered a disfiguring injury and supporting one's daughter after having a child out of wedlock, I know which one I would prefer.

Ahh, so because I don’t flip put over Palin that automatically makes me a Romney supporter?

What logic did you use to reach that conclusion?

How about appearing in People Magazine glorifying their daughter’s single motherhood...

Sarah did an interview for People magazine. Sarah never glorified her daughter's single motherhood.

And with your failed attempt at clever repartee, you still can’t name anyone you’d support.

Perhaps she did some objective investigation and came to the conclusion the Palin was not a desirable candidate.

I assumed that because she's a ranter / name caller that she would be a Sarahbot like other ranter / name callers (Coulter, Levin, Limbaugh).

I should point out that I like Debbie, but I disagree with her on this.

I also think Pamela Gellar's blog, Atlas Shrugs has a slighty better outlook on situations IMHO.

I’m not turned off by social conservatives.

I *am* turned off by willfully ignorant people.
