Your post moved me to tears.

Oh wait, that was the smoke from the celebratory cigar getting into my eye. Never mind.

Shame on me. Shame, shame on me.

No one has ever come close to this man. He was the last of the greats who transformed the way that America, and the world, received their daily news. He was in favor of giving the American people what they needed to know, not what they wanted to hear.

Not surprising coming from an obvious troll and rabid Palin hater. I can't believe you haven't been zotted yet, but you lay pretty low between the insults you throw at people.

Here, kitty, kitty...

He was in favor of giving the American people what they needed to know,

He was in favor of giving the American people what he wanted them to "know".

His lies about the Tet Offensive contributed to the untimely death of millions of people across Southeast Asia.

To the fools here: Shame on all of you. Shame.

To that end, he was the last, great editor-writer-general manager of the news. The guy could write.

As a professional, he was good. Just hated what he wrote.

Like they have any standing to complain. I remember their gleeful, celebratory comments when Reagan died. I remember the vile, hateful things they said about him.

Remember the glass houses and the stones, DUmmies.

Tony was a genuine journalist, an elegant man, a solid spokesman and a very, very American loving patriot.

Having just one of those qualities is rare these days, and Tony was blessed with all of them. I agree, he's missed :-|

He single-handedly dealt the USA its only war loss ever

This is truth that is worth repeating since we'll not hear this through the non-stop homage from the MSM.

In spite of this, I, too, wish God's peace for his family.

Now how many days are we going to have to listen to all the liberals praising him as the greatest newsman in the history of world?

Well, I'd like to be able to keep track of the minutes devoted to the passing of this liberal lying lion. I'd be curious to see how his minutes compare to Tim Russert. I had more respect for Tim than Walter, but neither blew my skirts up. Tim was wall to wall for a week or more. Surely the liberal media can pull out bigger stops for this man who actually lost a war for the US and managed to cause the deaths of several million people. I mean - we are talking results here!

What can I say? the only thing that kept him from being a perfect Ass H*le is the simple fact that no one is perfect.

Cronkite was a proclaimed atheist...>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I guarantee he isn't an atheist now! Too late, Wally.......in all your professed esteem and wisdom, you kinda forgot about the End Game.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Psalm 14:1-3

1. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

2. The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

3. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

I grew up watching his newscast. RIP, Walter Cronkite. One of the greats.

I too hope he finds a place to RIP. But, Walter Cronkite, while maybe on of the "greats" was not a great American during the Vietnam War.

I will not forget.

He was in favor of giving the American people what they needed to know, not what they wanted to hear.

What were his qualifications to decide waht the American people needed to know?

I assume you also mean he could decide what they didn't need to know.

Don’t sweat it. Cibco came home from Vietnam 40 years ago today. Combat, Infantry. He’s fired up.
