An al-Jazeera reporter who was imprisoned in Guantánamo Bay plans to launch a joint legal action with other detainees against former US president George Bush and other administration officials, for the illegal detention and torture he and others suffered at the hands of US authorities.

The case will be initiated by the Guantánamo Justice Centre, a new organisation open to former prisoners at the US base, which will set up its international headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, later this month.

...

Al-Haj, who is back at work for the Arabic satellite channel in Qatar, is in frequent contact with Guantánamo detainees, both past and present.

"Torture is continuing in Guantánamo ," al-Haj said. "Obama needs to close Guantánamo immediately."

I'll bet he has been. Just last night in fact, he told several of them "Operation Jakarta blood-bath is a go!"

Watch for Eric Holder's Justice Department to file an amicus brief on behalf of Al-Haj.

Al-Haj said: "I spoke to my lawyer, who advises me to do this in Europe. The courts do not have the power to bring [US officials] by force, but at least they can't visit European countries. If they do, [the authorities] would catch them and send them to court."

Very unclear on the concept, it seems. Let's bring charges against them somewhere that has no authority. Do they really think W is panting to visit Switzerland? anytime soon?

The Guantánamo Justice Centre, which will be led by British ex-detainee Moazzam Begg, will open a British-based branch this month in addition to its Geneva headquarters.

Why are these Muslim pukes still allowed in Western countries, when all they want to do is blow us up? What is the UK thinking? Do they want more bombings? Bush released Begg over the objections of the Pentagon, the CIA, and the FBI, who believed that Begg was more than likely a dangerous terrorist. Could it be? After his release from Guantanamo, Begg appeared in the video "21st Century CrUSAders" and said the War on Terror is really akin to a war against Islam. The British government considers possession of this film to indicate possible radicalization. Possible? He is a risk to the public safety and they know it. Why is he running around loose in the U.K.?

Attorney General Eric Holder's former D.C. law partners, Covington & Burling, represent 17 Yemeni nationals and one Pakistani citizen held at the Guantánamo Bay detention facility. From Michelle Malkin: “The fact that Mr. Holder, while Deputy Attorney General, pushed for the release of 16 violent FALN terrorists against the advice of the FBI, the US Attorneys who prosecuted them and the NYPD officers who were maimed by them, suggests that he was perfectly willing to put politics before the national security interests of the country. He is not suited for the job of attorney general, which is central to the issues surrounding the disposition of war on terror detainees.”

I thought that long ago, but with a new Resident and the keeping of them, I think the information gathered may be invaluable.

Al Jazeera, CAIR, the Muslim Brotherhood, and a bunch of other Islamist groups should all be banned here. They should not have the right to sue us.
