Two RINOs not worth your vote, or a promotion
The GOPNation.com ^ | July 17, 2009 | The GOPNation.com

This afternoon we highlight two RINOs in the U.S. House that aren't worth the spit required in mentioning their names. Both, it should be said voted for the Cap and Trade bill and both are running for U.S. Senate seats in 2010.

Mike Castle (Delaware)

Mark Kirk (Illinois)

Rep. Castle has an American Conservative Union rating of 28/100 in 2008 and a life-time rating of just 58.28. While his positions are better than Vice President Biden (whom had the Senate seat in which Castle hopes to take), Castle is clearly more in the mold of Arlen Specter than is to our liking.

Rep. Kirk, on the other hand, is slightly better with a rating of 48/100 and a life-time rating of 55.69. Still, the guy isn't worth a seat in the U.S. Senate.

Both of these 'Republicans' aren't worthy of the Republican label, nor anywhere near what one would call 'Conservative.'

We ask our readers in Maryland and Illinois to make better choices and help nominate true conservatives in 2010.

They both got nasty letters from me for their votes on cap-and-tax. Not that they care; I live in California.

Just whom should the readers in Maryland and Illinois choose. Any suggestions as to whom is running, especially in Maryland?......

Maybe Alan Keyes, since that has worked out so well in the past.

We need to put together a list of good conservatives running for elected office and make it clear to the GOP that these are the kind of people we want representing us. If the GOP won’t support them, they can form a conservative coalition of their own

The man on my list is Tim Walberg for Michigan’s 7th district.

Well Keyes had graduated to his on party now and I think is above the lowly senator race. I think he’s made three attempts, two in MD and one in IL at senate seats. Kinda gives the Peter Principle a new meaning.........

I think Rosanna Pulido is considering running again.

One of Kirks possible challengers for the Republican primary dropped out this week-not sure why.unfortunately, any republican running for office in this state must be approved by the Daley mob.Not much to pick from.

Update: Oops, our original post said that Castle was from Maryland. Nope, Delaware is stuck with him.

I was wondering that myself.
Is he suggesting that MD voters fraudulently register in DE?

I hate Mark Kirk.

He's gonna be at a local GOP HQ near us on Sunday to try to make nice-nice with the foot soldiers ... there are several of us, and I hope many more, who are gonna show up to give him a dose of FREEP.

I won’t go that far, but his vote on Cap and Tax was really disappointing. And other. Yet, he’s probably in the best position to win the “Obama Senate seat” in 2010, replacing Rollie the Boo Burris.

But if he hopes to win the support of conservatives, he’s got a lot of ‘splainin’ to do...

I’ll attend the meeting, on Sun. I read that Patricia Bird, who ran for Mount Prospect mayor, this year, is a Republican candidate for Kirk’s U.S. House seat. Is she conservative or moderate?

Maybe you can find some good conservatives to run but I doubt you can find any good politicians. Well there are names of good politicians but there is the little problem of them mostly being in graveyards.

Where is he showing up? I would love to show up too. Unfortunately, Kirk apparently is one of the very few who could win, and the Illinois Democrats are scared *&*&less of losing a Senate seat to the Republicans here.

Many of Kirk’s votes were disappointing. He’s pro-choice, pro-gun control, pro-gay marriage, pro-illegal alien, pro-spending increases, and anti-Iraq surge.

Tim Walberg is a good conservative Running in my district. He was ousted by the RINOs who called him a lost cause so they stripped him of money and left him to lose by a whopping 2%.

He sees the anger growing at our new democrat congressman and he’s ready for another fight.

You're right. "Hate" is too strong a word. But I wonder how much good it would do to elect Mark Kirk and Charlie Crist, both of whom would support Cap and Trade, a Second Stimulus, and more Supreme Court nominees like Sotomayor.

Particularly when, from these leadership positions, they would likely further oppose candidates like Toomey and Rubio...?
