Swine flu sweeping world 'at speed'
Agence France-Presse ^ | July 18, 2009

THE World Health Organisation says swine flu has swept the globe at "unprecedented speed", and a study warns that the pandemic could tip the world into deflation and delay the economic recovery.

The WHO said it will stop giving figures on the numbers infected by the A(H1N1) virus to allow countries to channel resources into close monitoring of unexpected developments and patterns in the spread of the disease.

Argentina, meanwhile, issued a nationwide alert after pigs were confirmed to have the swine flu virus.

"In past pandemics, influenza viruses have needed more than six months to spread as widely as the new H1N1 virus has spread in less than six weeks."

In Britain, a study by Oxford Economics - a forecasting consultancy whose clients include multinational corporations and government - said recovery could be delayed by a couple of years due to the swine flu pandemic.

"Although so far the social and economic impacts have been very small, if infection rates were to rise much further, significant costs could be expected," .

Comparing the outbreak to the 2003 SARS crisis, it said that outbreak had occurred at a time of strong economic growth. Both consumption and growth had returned as soon as the epidemic was considered under control.

"This time around, such a sharp rebound is unlikely," it said.

"There is a risk that swine flu tips the United Kingdom and the world economy into deflation. This is because the pandemic would hit at a time when businesses and banks are still reeling from the economic crisis."

On Thursday, England's chief medical officer Liam Donaldson said that in a worst case scenario, around one in three Britons could be infected and 65,000 could die.

Sounds like this is a pretty crappy time for America to start experimenting with ObamaCare. A lot of people could get killed.

What are the symptoms? Is it like a bad cold, or like other flu varieties?

This emergency is growing and instead of a national mobilization of resources to minimize it those idiots are fiddling on the Hill over stupid and wasteful programs.

Wait until this come home to roost!

For most people, the symptoms are similar to a very bad cold or a mild case of seasonal flu. It is really sweeping through summer camps, athletic tournaments, etc. where young people gather. Duke University shut down or cancelled all of the remainder of its summer camps for pre-college students because a number of campers and instructors in the early-summer sessions came down with the H1N1 virus.

I think that’s the whole reason they want us to panic.

“number of campers and instructors in the early-summer sessions came down with the H1N1 virus”

They came down with the real swine flu H1N1?

I know someone who had H1N1, but it wasn't the swine flu variant.

The campers and instructors tested positive for the “Novel Influenza A(H1N1) virus which, according to the CDC, was “formerly known as swine-origin influenza virus.”

A lot of people getting killed is just a good crisis not to waste. Rahm and Hillary have already told us so.

Did you have it diagnosed by a doctor to be sure? My son and I both had something terrible that started with sore throat and headache, moved on to about 8 hours of chills, followed by a full day of sweating. We were sick for about 4 full days, and felt “under the weather” for a full 2 weeks. Residual cough still lingering on at the 4 week mark. We pay our own way (no insurance), so we decided to treat this ourselves. Wonder if we had a seasonal virus bug - or the swine flu.

That's probably what he wants.

It sounds like you might have had it. However, since you don’t have insurance I would recommend looking into various OTC things people are using to combat this.

Two new things I had not heard of:

1. Bioperine® : A 20 mg dose of Bioperine® can increase curcumin’s bioavailability twentyfold . Take 30 min before the Turmeric 95% CURCUMIN.

2.Turmeric 95% CURCUMIN: 900mg: to stop a “cytokine storm” immune system overreaction if you become infected. Take 4 900mg tabs a day.

Curcumin is used by people who have inflamation problems.

I have read mixed ideas about elderberry (sambucol). Here is what one post said about it:

Elderberry juice (Sambucal) - AVOID - Increases production of cytokines TNF-a and IL-6. This substance is very effective against the common flu but may not be desirable for the H5N1 virus. Increases in these cytokines may trigger a lethal cytokine storm.

“Sounds like this is a pretty crappy time for America to start experimenting with ObamaCare. A lot of people could get killed.”

Science Czar Holdren has decided there are too many people in the world. Obamacare is his way of making sure people indeed do die from the Swine Flu that he has probably created or ordered to be spread after it was found.

How else can they solve Global Warming?
