Teacher Claims to Remember Obama's Birth (operative word "claims" LOL )
Louisville City Hall Examiner ^ | July 15, 2009 | Thomas McAdam

Posted on 07/17/2009 11:51:44 AM PDT by kellynla

Earlier this week, we reported on the $10.000 bounty being offered by Joseph Farah, editor of WorldNetDaily, to anyone who could prove he or she was present at the birth of Barack Obama. "Barack Obama claims to have been born in Honolulu Aug. 4, 1961," explained Farah. "His entire constitutional claim to the presidency rests on this premise. Yet, he refuses to release a copy of his long-form birth certificate – the only document that could possibly corroborate his claim. Therefore, in the interest of truth, justice and the Constitution, I am making the extraordinary offer to entice someone to come forward with the facts of his birth – whether it took place in Hawaii or elsewhere."

This story elicited a number of thoughtful responses from readers; the most interesting of which came from a one Mrajczak, who referred us to a January 20, 2009, Buffalo News story about a retired schoolteacher named Barbara Nelson, who was quoted as saying: “I may be the only person left who specifically remembers his (Obama’s) birth. His parents are gone, his grandmother is gone, the obstetrician who delivered him is gone.”

According to Nelson, who lived in Hawaii in 1961, she was having dinner at the Outrigger Canoe Club on Waikiki Beach with Dr. Rodney T. West, the father of her college friend, Jo-Anne. Making conversation, Nelson turned to Dr. West and said: “‘So, tell me something interesting that happened this week,’” she recalls. His response: “Well, today, Stanley had a baby. Now that’s something to write home about.”

The new mother was Stanley (later referred to by her middle name of Ann) Dunham, and the baby was Barack Hussein Obama. “I penned the name on a napkin, and I did write home about it,” said Nelson, knowing that her father, Stanley A. Czurles, would be interested in the “Stanley” connection. She also remembers Dr. West mentioning that the baby’s father was the first black student at the University of Hawaii and how taken he was by the baby’s name.

But when the Buffalo News article first appeared, Nelson was contacted by reporter Bob Unruh, of WorldNetDaily, who interviewed her concerning the sources of her knowledge of Obama’s birth. Nelson told WND her knowledge of the birth came only from Dr. West, with whom she was dining, and the subject was brought up because of the mother's novel name and the "musical" name of the son, Barack Hussein Obama. She told WND the conversation also was memorable because Obama's mother's name was Stanley, named after her father, and the son also was named after his father.

When confronted with the fact that West could not possibly have delivered Obama since, according to a Hawaiian Pearl Harbor history website, he retired in 1956, five years before Obama's birth, Nelson backtracked a bit: "I don't know in what capacity [West] knew about this particular birth," she said. Later in the interview, Nelson said the assumption that West delivered the baby, or that she said that, were just misunderstandings on the part of the Buffalo News reporter.

Mrajczak suggests that Mrs. Nelson should receive Joseph Farah’s $10,000 reward, but, since she admits that she was not actually present at Mr. Obama’s birth, and only obtained her information second-hand from a source who himself may have gotten his information second-hand, the prize remains unclaimed.

Close, but no cigar.

Er, no; it rests upon the fact that he was born to an American citizen, whether in Hololulu, Kenya, the Moon, or Dimension X.

In any case, citing WingNutDrooly is one step above citing the Weekly World News.

It should be easy enough to find someone who remembers the heavens opening up and the dove descending and landing on his shoulder.

...the baby was Barack Hussein Obama. “I penned the name on a napkin, and I did write home about it,”

It was important enough to "write home about" but she didn't know the name of Stanley's husband? Duh? Barbara Nelson is FOS!

Bullsh!t.

Here's an article about a black woman who got a degree from UH in 1915 and made a breakthrough in leprosy treatment. No doubt there were other black students through the years.

But isn’t it well settled law that a testimonial is a satisfactory substitute for a birth certificate?? /sarc

Steve=b, at the time the law was such that Obama's legal status depended as well on his mother's age at the time of birth.

Stanley Ann was "short" time to qualify him if he were born abroad.

This had to do with a situation where pregnant Catholic girls frequently traveled abroad to Ireland or Italy to give birth to out of wedlock children. By denying the kids citizenship the babies were left behind for the religious orders to deal with.

They used to think that was a good idea in America. Now they think it more appropriate to slaughter them in the womb.

When the law was changed no attempt was made to retroactively adjust status of those impacted.

Interesting. The person she wrote to? Gone. The doctor she thought delivered Obama? Gone. The grandmother that was there when he was born, and has proclaimed it, along with a 1/2 sister, are alive and well in Kenya...Why not give her the money? Obamas 1/2 brother lives on $1/month, I bet they could use the money. Oh wait!! That would mean that living people with living memories, that are part of his family, whose supporting evidence, made outside the family, meaning, the hospital where he was born, in Mombasa, Kenya, which has erected a statue in front of the hospital, calling him Kenya’s “Native Son”, are liars, and do not qualify...
Here is the bottom line, unless the MSM says its true, its not true...
Sarah Obama was there, she can tell you who the doctor was, I bet...wonder why nobody really wants to know the truth.

It was just as much a scandal for unwed Protestent girls to have a child out of wedlock and the wealthy often traveled to homes for unwed mothers.

Nope. And to my knowledge, there have never been three wise men anywhere near him either.

...it rests upon the fact that he was born to an American citizen...

Then why did Congress make Winston Churchill an honorary American citizen? His mother was also an American.
