I liked this one, because it actually has more to do with a left-wing ideology than style of clothing...

“Step 4. Challenge what you and others believe. If you have grown up with a certain belief system (religion, political view, etc.) ask yourself why you believe this. Do you really believe this or is it just a habit?”

"Billyburg" has been Trustafarian Hipster Douchebag central for the past decade. Its a place where spoiled, skinny, pasty kids from suburban Columbus or Denver pay $2,000+ to live in a small tenement built for poor immigrants, while spending all day sitting around in cafes talking about the art they aren't painting or the songs they aren't writing, while occassionally getting getting their hands dirty working at Starbucks. They also go out of their way to pretend that they don't care about how they look by using Daddy's credit card at the "shabby chic" boutiques on Bedford.

I wish that these poseurs would just GO HOME already and stop infesting the outer boroughs. Unfortunately, they are doing the same to Astoria as we speak.

It was better when it was a lower middle class area inhabited by Italians/Poles/Puerto Ricans. Unfortunately, Trevor and Heather decided to take the L train east 15 years ago, and the rest is history.

Note to the rest of America: STOP SENDING YOUR SNOT NOSED KIDS TO NEW YORK CITY!

No, no no. Those vermin must not be allowed to infest Astoria. It is the only decent family-friendly area near Manhattan.

30th Avenue is effectively becoming the new Bedford Avenue, while the Bohemian Beer Garden is the new McCarren Pool. The invasion started 3-4 years ago and has only been slowed by the economy. They even have their own website: whyleaveastoria.com.

My GF thinks that they are "great for the neighborhood," while these little snot nosed punks annoy the hell out of me. I think that I should go on the above website and mention a new, hip Beer Garden with "indie" bands playing at the Queensbridge Houses on 21st Street. Make sure to show up at 3AM and look as pasty and "fey" as possible.

LOL - your list reminds me I need to git me a bumper sticker - "Who are you to tell me to question authority?"

I have no problem with value given for value received. Passed an old street musician yesterday, playing a guitar and singing for spare change. Not much of a retirement plan but it might be better than mine, all things considered. He seemed happy enough.

But it's tough being a bum if that's all you got going. It gets cold around here in the wintertime.

Not all of Williamsburg has turned into Douchebag Central. My dad is from the south part, near the bridge, and that area was never touched by the kiddies from elsewhere.

Actually, his neighborhood became Satmar Central after WWII, and parts of it look like it hasn’t been cleaned since.

And when they do inevitably come here, please keep their white trash ways and Ed Hardy t-shirts (the two usually go together) back home with you.

One of the penalties you pay for living in a trendy neighborhood. They don't want to do what it takes to live there legitimately, they just want to be there.

Wish we could get someone like Giuliani back, but it seems he has now been demonized as badly as Bush. The cops are great but they need someone at the top who will back them up.

I bet they all voted for Obama and would make wonderful members of the coming Obama storm Troopers.

A perfect example where one word is better than 3 or 4.
