Ask your demand that your congressman sponsor HR 615! If government mandated single-payer healthcare for us is so good why is Congress exempting itself? "What's good for the goose is good for the gander!"

TOPICS: Business/Economy; Constitution/Conservatism; Government

Well...I checked out HR615,and this bill has to do with lump-sum payments of Social Security benefits at retirement and nothing to do with healthcare for Congress.
Moreoever, the bill was introduced a few years ago.
Can you research that and try again? Thanks.

It is not HR 615. It is H.RES.615. To quote:

Title: Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that Members who vote in favor of the establishment of a public, federal government run health insurance option are urged to forgo their right to participate in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP) and agree to enroll under that public option.
Sponsor: Rep Fleming, John [LA-4] (introduced 7/8/2009) Cosponsors (49)
Latest Major Action: 7/8/2009 Referred to House committee. Status: Referred to the House Committee on House Administration.

I checked and my Congressman Linder (GA) is a cosponsor. Fleming said that there are only 43 cosponsors - they are all Republican and not one dem will sign on.

Get busy folks - phone, faxes, emails and keep it up until you rattle their bones in DC. Busy signals - keep calling!

This bad boy needs rewriting.
How about "required to forego..." and fix the spelling while they're in there.

My congressman and senator are all three repubs. People in areas represented by dems need to get with it. I did send e mails.

How is this?

Dear Representative Myrick,

I want to first of all thank you for your continued fight for our Republic in the face of all of the adversity in Washington. Please continue to push for H.RES.615, the title of which is: “Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that Members who vote in favor of the establishment of a public, federal government run health insurance option are urged to forgo their right to participate in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP) and agree to enroll under that public option.” If they will not agree voluntarily, then I would ask you to make the sacrifice and introduce new legislation voiding all existing Congressional health benefits in favor of the President’s package.

Kindest Regards,

Gee, who would have guessed it but our BETTERS — the so-called political elites who are running things (slap into the ground) in the country — HAVE EXEMPTED THEMSELVES from the “UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE” they have planned for us PEONS and PEASANTS. They — and their millions of bureaucratic minions — have a VASTLY SUPERIOR healthcare plan.

HEY — The term is UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE. That means it covers the universe, i.e., the ENTIRE POPULATION. EVERYONE is covered by the SAME RULES and NOBODY is LEFT OUT!

If that IS what the Democrat political elites REALLY WANT, here’s the deal:

NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

No members of Congress or ANYONE in the White House running off to Walter Reed or Bethesda for that nasty ingrown toenail, hacking cough and spitting up blood. Take a number and wait in the same line the rest of us are.

That goes for your congressional and White House children and other family members! GET IN LINE!!! That REALLY LONG ONE that ends on the other street.

And if your UNIVERSAL RULES dictate that some life-saving treatment would be too expensive or not be cost-effective for you older members, here’s a twenty (the cost of a phone call once the TARP “money” hits the system) – call someone who cares.

Oh yeah – forgot the best part: If ANY of you are found to be availing yourselves of what idiot representative Fortney “Pete” Stark (as in “raving mad) from (where else) KAHLIFONIA once called “Boutique Medicine” (cute, huh?) by bypassing the universal system, not getting that needed treatment will be the least of your problems.

Use some of those free cell phone long distance minutes and call the Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and give YOUR congresscritter a piece of your mind while it’s still legal to do so.

And if you’re one of those NPR listeners who thinks “congress is pissing away our grandkids’ legacy (BTW, it;s already GONE!), doesn’t listen to us, wastes our “money,” refuses to close the borders, deport the illegals, etc., etc., ad nauseum — BUT MY CRITTER’S ONE OF THE GOOD GUYS” — check him out at http://www.gradegov.com/. Be sure you’re sitting down.

Stay strong and remember, WE SURROUND THEM! Let’s start acting like it!!

PS: Representative Fleming of Louisiana has introduced a House Resolution (H.RES. 615) REQUIRING ANY MEMBER WHO VOTES FOR UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE TO DROP HIS SUPERIOR FULL BENEFIT GOVERNMENT HEALTHCARE PLAN AND COME INTO ANY NEW PLAN WITH US PEONS!

GO TO FLEMING’S SITE AT http://fleming.house.gov/
AND SIGN HIS PETITION (ABOUT MIDWAY DOWN THE PAGE IN THE CENTER).

WHILE YOU’RE ON THE HOUSE SITE, LET YOUR GUY KNOW YOU THINK THAT’S A GOOD THING AND HE NEEDS TO SIGN ON AS A CO-SPONSOR OF FLEMING’S BILL?

That’s an old one - you have to check the current congress.

And it’s non-binding. It expresses the sense of the House - it is not mandating that they enroll.

This is NOT strong enough language. They should HAVE to - not be ‘urged to’ - nice idea but still a load of hooey.

It’s a BS resolution. Let this Flemming guy know...

They need to take the word “urged” out and replace it with “shall”.
Maybe the people should write the resolution.

Sick of all the politicians............they really think we are morons and gophers.
