Sen Roberts: Obamacare Bill includes the end of Medicare and TRICARE
CSPAN | 7/16/09

Posted on 07/16/2009 12:49:05 PM PDT by pabianice

Senator Pat Roberts on CSPAN-Senate channel now. Claims the Obamacare Bill ends both Medicare and TRICARE by making reimbursements so low that no doctor or hospital will be able to afford to provide it through a bill no one has had the time to read. Claims Obamacare will end ALL other health care options by also purposefully and maliciously undercutting all private plans. Pure Stalinist medicine.

It's clear why Obama and Pelosi are freaking-out and trying to get this passed before the end of July. If congresspeople go home and get an earful of their constituents' anger they'd never come back and vote for it.

Roberts: "Wake-up, seniors! Wake up, AARP! Wake up, National Hospital Association! This is your medical care and Obama is taking it away from you!"

I think we will win this one. Constituents already pissed, and CBO says it is a disaster.

Rep. Shadegg now on Fox. Reports that Obamacare has been rammed through two more committees in past 12 hours. May be no way to stop it.

And so the “Change” begins.

I'm a recent retiree and am enrolled in Tricare Prime since my Primary Care Manager is 70 miles away and the nearest base is 200 miles away.

I was just told Healthnet, the administrator of Tricare North just lost the contract in a closed bid from Aetena. Now Aetena, in an effort to cut costs, will eliminate most Prime users. However, they say Active Duty Prime members and wounded warriors will not be affected. So, that leaves 177,000 affected retirees.

Former Prime members will be converted to Standard in April 10. And to further align with the adminitration’s intentions, copayments, and deductibles will be raised. So, there's no reason to pass a law. Just use the closed bid process and demand “change”.

So this is what our warriors get for serving this country? Sacrifice and get shafted.

Ah ha...I smelled something sneaky was going to happen. I have TriCare Prime also for reasons similar to yours. But, I wonder what happens to us who go on TriCare for life at age 65 which I will be in a month. I know I have to pay the Medicare amount monthly, but I counted on TriCare for Life to be my secondary ins. I wonder if I now will have a higher TriCare for Life bill to pay or what. Or will we be converted to TriCare Standard? I just talked with TriCare last week and, of course, no one said a word about this coming. Now I will have to call them again.

Isn't it disgusting when all we have planned can be swept away so secretly by one man's ambitions and ego?
