And so the “Change” begins.

I'm a recent retiree and am enrolled in Tricare Prime since my Primary Care Manager is 70 miles away and the nearest base is 200 miles away.

I was just told Healthnet, the administrator of Tricare North just lost the contract in a closed bid from Aetena. Now Aetena, in an effort to cut costs, will eliminate most Prime users. However, they say Active Duty Prime members and wounded warriors will not be affected. So, that leaves 177,000 affected retirees.

Former Prime members will be converted to Standard in April 10. And to further align with the adminitration’s intentions, copayments, and deductibles will be raised. So, there's no reason to pass a law. Just use the closed bid process and demand “change”.

So this is what our warriors get for serving this country? Sacrifice and get shafted.

Ah ha...I smelled something sneaky was going to happen. I have TriCare Prime also for reasons similar to yours. But, I wonder what happens to us who go on TriCare for life at age 65 which I will be in a month. I know I have to pay the Medicare amount monthly, but I counted on TriCare for Life to be my secondary ins. I wonder if I now will have a higher TriCare for Life bill to pay or what. Or will we be converted to TriCare Standard? I just talked with TriCare last week and, of course, no one said a word about this coming. Now I will have to call them again.

Isn't it disgusting when all we have planned can be swept away so secretly by one man's ambitions and ego?
