Did Sotomayor just commit perjury?

Posted on 07/15/2009 1:27:35 PM PDT by disraeligears

Sessions just finished his second round of questions to Sotomayor in which he disclosed that Sotomayor served on the litigation committee while on the Board of the Puerto Rico Legal Defense Fund and that she reported on the litigation efforts by the Fund.

He in essence stated that she didn’t disclose this to L. Graham when Graham was questioning her about her involvement and knowledge of litigation efforts, including language from specific legal briefs filed by the Fund equating the denial of Medicaid funded abortions with slavery. Yesterday Sotomayor in essence said that she didn’t represent them legally but was just a Board Member.

In response to Sessions, she said that in her testimony to Graham she didn’t have a chance to divulge her participation in the litigation committee.

Does anybody have a transcript from her testimony yesterday with Graham? I don’t remember it as she is stating, so therefore, is there a chance that she committed double perjury regarding her:

testimony to Graham yesterday which may have misrepresented her participation with the Fund’s litigation efforts, and

testimony to Sessions today stating that she just didn’t have a chance to testify about her participation with the litigation committee?

That's absolutely no excuse to not run the old gal through her own mud.

No way should any Democrat be allowed to go up to the Supreme Court without first leaving a bad impression in the public mind.

Just trying to correct the post that claimed she perjured herself. Everyone that has a modicum of knowledge on the subject knew she was on the litigation committee

Of course she was on the litigation committee, and as top dog on the Fund's board, she knew ~ or she should have known.

I bet she wrote all the crazy stuff herself. It's that smirk of hers ~ gave her away. The woman is a head case. Too much bad insulin I'd say.

PRLDF is the Puerto Rican version of the ALCU. Their goal is to reinterpret our laws to benefit Puerto Ricans. One of the issues that I recall is that the PRLDF filed a complaint about Mayor Dinkens for referring to the FALN as terrorists. The PRLDF claimed that Dinkens was insensitive and that he risked offending Puerto Ricans who thought of the FALN as a legitimate protest group.

“JUDGE SOTOMAYOR: Our mission statement was broad, like the Constitution — (chuckles) —”

WTF?

No Latina, it IS NOT. It is Specific and LIMITS government, stating quite clearly what it CAN NOT DO.

This wonman should not be on any bench anywhere in any court other than as a defendant in a perjury case.

If she has committed perjury, wouldn’t that automatically disqualify her?

Not to demoncRATs. That just solidifies their support of her.
