WASHINGTON – Praising and prodding Congress at once, President Barack Obama on Wednesday said a vast reform of the nation's health insurance system is required to head off instability to families, industry and the government itself.
"Deferring reform is nothing more than defending the status quo — and those who would oppose our efforts should take a hard look at just what it is they're defending," Obama said in the Rose Garden, pushing for landmark bills to get through the House and Senate before Congress' August recess.
Putting more of his own political stake behind the effort each day, Obama outlined the troubles with the U.S. approach to health care coverage, with an emphasis on the cost to consumers. He spoke of soaring premiums, deductibles and out-of-pocket costs and promised with reform, "You'll save money."
"If you lose your job, change your job, or start a new business, you'll still be able to find quality health insurance that you can afford," Obama promised. Once again assuring Americans who are dubious of what might be changing, he said anyone happy with their doctor and health care plan will be able to keep it.

Yeah, THE BEST HEALTH CARE SYSTEM IN THE WORLD — is the status quo!!! And we are defending the rights of Americans to MAKE THEIR OWN CHOICES ABOUT HEALTH CARE, what they have or do not have. This socialist power-grab destroys many American freedoms, to say nothing about the quality and availability of health care, especially for seniors — which these people care NOTHING about.
Stability? Obama sure doesn’t show any on the mental aspect.

The health of the capitalist economy is of no concern to these people. Obama and his ilk have already proven that with the ruse of “STIMULUS”. As an “unintended consequence,” I’m sure since you intend to control risk and capital, what becomes of the investments generated by health insurance premiumsd, what impact will that have on the bond and capital markets and interset rates as investable capital is unavailable to the markets? I’m sure, in your desire to wreck the market economy, which has paid for everything thus far through taxes, you or your marxist cohorts have thought about this, haven’t you? You are aware Comrade that your taxes on payroll,in addition to income, will not only inhibit job creation, but cause lessened tax revenues to every level of government, right? My daughter is a small business owner, and thanks to Obama and the dems, she plans to layoff 6 of her 18 full time employees in the coming months.

I make my living assessing the stability of systems and designing systems to be stable. Obama is full of it (and I'm not talking stability here - far from it).
What is being proposed with Cap & Tax and ObamaCare are hugely destabilizing. Add that to an overall government system that is already unstable (but with massive inertia) and he'll drive the divergence through the roof. We'll consider ourselves lucky if we can maintain the GDP of Zimbabwe.
We're no longer on the road (haven't been for quite a while) and Obama has shoved the throttle to the firewall. If we don't get hold of this situation our grandkids will never know what it was like to be free.
