Labor Leaders Push Obama for Second Stimulus Package

In a meeting with President Obama today at the White House, top labor leaders pushed for a second stimulus package to create more jobs.

“Since the onset of the recession, this country has lost an astounding 6.5 million jobs and $14 trillion in wealth. We support the President's recovery and reinvestment program, and we believe it should be substantially reinforced with more stimulus, creating millions of good jobs that cannot be outsourced,” the National Labor Coordinating Committee (NLCC) said in a statement after the meeting.

A labor official said Obama did not commit to any future stimulus package.

The president met for approximately an hour this afternoon with more than a dozen labor leaders, including AFL-CIO president John Sweeney, SEIU President Andy Stern and Change to Win Chair Anna Burger.

Obama used his weekly address last Saturday to quell the calls for a second stimulus bill and said the Recovery Act “has worked as intended.”

Of course they do, I can only imagine and count the reasons why. I am sure it has nothing to do with the further consolidation of power and profits...

America should push back on Labor Unions and ask them to provide the nation with a Stimulus package of their own. Specifically lowering their demands on businesses for raises and benefits during these tough economic times. Perhaps then businesses will be able to afford to employ more people.

Wait you knuckleheads -8bama said it would take two years before his first stimulus would fully bankrupt the nation. Give it time. No need to rush irresponsibility.

Congress should just mail each American union member a check for $50,000 and tell them to spend it at Walmart! Stimulate the Chinese economy, give Walmart a great quarter. That would be more effective than the nonsense the last stimulus bill provided...

Congrats, labor. Please insure that all of your products have the union label on them - so that I will know what NOT to buy. EVER.

I want to buy American, but not from a group solely responsible for the demise of the steel industry, the auto industry, and soon, our own government.

Obama you!

Here is one reason the impact of the first stimulus package is minimal:

Obama is withholding $600 billion of the first stimulus as his personal slush fund to pay off supporters.

creating millions of good jobs that cannot be outsourced

The endless stream of deceptive babble polluting our nation has reached supra-toxic levels. It actually amazes me how blatant the BS is that these people spew, 24/7, without blinking. They know some people know it's crap, but that most people have tuned out or are too dumb to figure it out.

Ignorant LibTard DhimmiRats, IMO.

The first illegal, anti-Constitutional “stimulus” has not even been spent (thank God) and already these gasbags are clamoring for more.

It’s time to take back the country.

This has got to be the stupidest statement of all time. "Labor leaders" are either morons or crooks. Or both.
