PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A private suburban swim club accused of racism after it canceled the memberships of dozens of minority children says it will seek a meeting with the kids' camps to work out an agreement for them to return.
Amy Goldman, a member of The Valley Club, said those able to attend a hastily called meeting Sunday afternoon voted unanimously in support of reinstating the memberships of the Creative Steps day camp and two other camps as long as safety issues, times and terms can be agreed upon.
The Creative Steps camp had arranged for 65 mostly black and Hispanic children to swim each Monday afternoon at the gated Huntingdon Valley club, which is on a leafy hillside in a village straddling two overwhelmingly white townships. But after the group arrived June 29, camp director Alethea Wright said, several children reported hearing racial comments and some swim club members pulled their children out of the pool.

Exactly. The wife of the President of said swim club said: “My husband is a good man. He is a member of the ACLU.(!)”
This area IS as liberal as it gets in the Philly suburbs.
Were the kids causing the people to leave the pool because of ghetto behavior? I don’t like to be around filthy-mouthed rude people either.

65 kids was far too many for that pool. Why are they backing down? It’s obvious the kids misbehaved. There is no reason to cave to race pimps.
This would happen at ANY pool under those conditions regardless of it's "complexion."

I always get a kick out of all of the white flighters in Montco/Bucks/South Jersey who voted for Obama (and for libs in general) but freak when they encounter actual black people in their nabes.
I believe the kids were asked to leave because they were rowdy and disruptive. They just happened to be black. Same vein as screaming, “How come there’s such a high percentage of blacks in prison?!?” Uhhh... “because they COMMIT MORE CRIMES?!?!”

One only need go to a public pool to understand why they were terminated. Open spitting, cursing out words that would make a sailor blush, pulling down shorts exposing male genitalia, pushing, shoving and disrespect to everyone not their skin tone. This I witnessed last year when I took my teens to the public pool and payed $3.00 per person. The last straw was when they yelled to one another using the “N” word. When I asked for my money back I was told to live with it, it is their pool too! Sooooooooooooo ………… build them their own pool camp dude or run a sprinkler. Better yet, include the cost in your request to Nobama for ACORN taxpayer funds. “It’s their pool too!!”

It happened not long ago at one of the 3 “white” pools in the town where I live. A member who coached a little league team got permission to have the end of season party at the club.
The team had a couple black players and the brouhaha was amazing. I asked my husband “did they drain and refill the pool?” For heaven’s sake these were 2 children.
BTW. This is not a Republican area. I live in a small town in NC. where Republicans are few and far between. This is Democrat territory and this is Democrat racism.
The one time I took my son to the public pool after we moved here, we decided we would not be going back. Funny thing is the racists there were black and they would also be Dems. I learned you either join a private club, get your own pool, go to the lake or ocean or don’t swim.
They are screwed, and it will be fun to watch them squirm. The black kids are going to own this pool, but first the racists at the pool will be forced to do a super good butt kissing grovel. Could not happen to a nicely bunch of folks.
I wonder what that club's insurance carrier thinks about all this....

I can take just about any type of music, but I can’t tolerate music with filthy obscene lyrics.
I think the kids should swim there. The swim club made the deal and took the money.
Case closed. If the swim members don’t like it, they can take it up with the clubm or cancle their membership.
let’s step back and ask how this situation came to pass.
The sewer known as Philadelphia has been under Liberal Democrat control for 60 or 70 years. Because of their mismanagement, poor decisions, patronage, kowtowing to unions, the city is FOREVER short of money. One of the victims of this cash crunch are city run public pools. Almost all of them have been closed. This entire episode has its genesis in Liberal Democrat FAILURE.
The ugly truth about liberal ELITIST’s is they want to do something to make themselves feel better. This guilt complex only extends as far as the city limits. Rich, white, guilt ridden Liberals sensitivity to the underclass comes to a grinding halt when it encroaches on neighborhoods, schools, and swim clubs. I’ll just chalk it up to hating “the CHILDREN”.
