Would there be anything wrong with imposing a 7-10 day moratorium on allowing a new signup to post an article?

Would it help?

It wasn’t a new signup that posted the article. It was a legit article. It was some posts that were objectionable.

I don’t think days would work since many sign up and then wait until later to post. If posts need to be moderated it should be done as the first X number of posts with it beign posted the number. You’d find out really fast if you had trouble makers. It is a PITA to have to do that as a mod but it does keep thigns on the up and up. I’ve had a small yahoo group since 2000 and new members are always moderated until I know for sure they aren’t spammers or worse.
