They saved the banks. Who cares . . . if people are still losing their jobs?
So is another stimulus in the works?
"Any economic stimulus plan is going to be part political, part economic."
Last winter's plan "was two parts political, loaded with projects for folks who'd missed out the past eight years," said Vitner. "If they're going to get another one through, it's going to have to help the folks who didn't support the first one."
That means more road and bridge projects, more aid to state and local governments, and maybe tax breaks for small business.

I’m being laid off as of 7/20. Thanks, Obama! I can’t wait to get to work on a bridge!
You have my sympathy.
I was rescued from idleness last Friday after four months. I have not enjoyed the experience.
Chin up, Sir.
After working for a company for 15 years, I left them on April 1st, 2008 (yea, they thought it was a joke as well) to start my own mechanical design consulting business. I never imagined I would be so busy with work from that date to present.
Where do I line-up to get free gubmint money?
“That means more road and bridge projects, more aid to state and local governments, and maybe tax breaks for small business.”
Why should we believe this 2nd one will do that when the first one was promised to do that too.
The article and statistics are distorted. The true unemployment rate is near 20%, and although the article says finding a new job takes 6 months vs 3 month, reality is much different.
6 years ago, the company I had worked for almost 15 years closed my division. With 30 plus years in the industry and current technical skills, it took 2 years for me to find another job. Then only because I went back to an employer that I had worked for previously (for almost 15 years) and was a known entity. I went back at 1/3 pay cut and less than I left them at in 1988.
I was 55 at the time.
The pundits don't have a clue or simply "lie".
The problem is not the financial crisis, but the policies of Obozo's administration.
Silly Rabbit- There can be NO recovery until Obozo is out of office.
