It's Getting Cold Out There

No wonder skeptics consider the left's belief in man-made global warming as akin to a fad religion -- last week in Italy, G8 leaders pledged to not allow the Earth's temperature to rise more than 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit.

For its next act, the G8 can part the Red Sea.

While Obama was in Italy preaching big cuts in U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, he was losing some of his flock in Washington. The House may have passed the 1,200-page cap-and-trade bill largely unread, but Senate Democrats are combing the fine print and not liking what they see. As Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., said of the bill, "We need to be a leader in the world but we don't want to be a sucker."

Republicans who oppose the legislation are positively gleeful.

Even if we achieved the perfect global temperature,(whatever that is) it doesn’t mean that extremes and devastating hurricanes, blizzards and death from weather will stop. The global temperature is just an average.

Their belief that they can limit the increase to 2 degrees Celsius by joining hands at the G-8 summit and issuing a statement that this is their goal, should have generated disabling cases of laughter worldwide.

Democrats are reading the small print and mot liking what they are finding.

I dont like what is found in the large print, much less what might be in the small.

Waxman introduced this bomb on us, Do his constituents have any idea what an idiot he is?

All that may be true, but politicians running in Michigan and Ohio and West Virginia don’t want opponents throwing chapter and verse of Cap ‘n’ Trade in their faces during the next election.

Here is some interesting evidence: summer clothing sales are suffering in North Carolina — getting socked harder than the rest of the markets.

But to make it more clear, citrus crops keep getting whacked with unseasonable cold.

Well, it was a flippin' 111 degrees in Phoenix this weekend. We bugged out of town and hit the mountains again. Tubing in a spring fed mountain stream in Sedona took the edge off the fact we've got to return to that heat again shortly...

I don't plan to stick around here on the weekends.

Got a fully fenced yard. My neighbors put their house up for sale last week. Its a brand new house with some 700 feet of lakeshore that they’ve only spent two summers in.

I’m going to go with cold weather crops next summer. Greens and root crops grow very well here in Michigan.

Would they consider a summer rental? Houston winters are fabulous, I’d have to come back here then.

The Air Cond units are running constantly except for a few minutes around 5 am. I heard on the news that we have not had such a long heat wave since the 80's and to think we still have a ways to go!
