Palin Hints At Independent Conservative Movement - (Wash. Times changes "stump for Dems" headline)
SarahPAC ^ | July 12, 2009 | Tammy Bruce via SarahPAC

Posted on 07/12/2009 1:55:30 AM PDT by SolidWood

Enter now Sarah Palin with very encouraging comments that lead one to believe that she is indeed planning to do what she must: build an independent conservative movement and take this nation back from the liberals which now control both parties. Thanks liberals, for provoking Sarah into the national scene while vetting that family at the same time.

One thing I will say, the Washington Times with their headline for this exclusive interview reveal an anti-Palin stance. She is, don’t doubt, a threat to every existing political status quo. I hope the Washington Times and their editors realize, sooner than later, that the Palin movement is unstoppable and their credibility would be saved simply by reporting the news instead of becoming a GOP version of the NYT.

The Washington Times article

Folks, you remember the article yesterday titled: "EXCLUSIVE: Palin to stump for conservative Democrats"?

Looks like Tammy Bruce and SarahPAC have taken them to task... Because now the headline has been changed to "EXCLUSIVE: Palin plans to stay in politics".

The WaTimes has been misrepresenting Palin's intent and remarks with their biased headline... even causing some here to question her intent.

Anyone who read her comments can see that her intent is creating a powerful Conservative grassroots movement.

It's not about "stumping for Dems"!

Palin isn't going to take any crap from liberals whether in the 'rat party or the RNC. Interesting that her PAC publishes a comment that attacks "liberals which control now both parties". A clear message to the RINOcrats!

Yeah Sarah!

I am afraid some one is giving her terrible advice. Building a political party is a remarkably complex undertaking. Would it not be more efficient to use the existing Republican infrastructure and focus on defeating Democrats and winning elections? A conservative third-party candidate will hand the election to Obama and the Democrats in spite of significant conservative electoral advantages.

Between walking out on her job and now this she will never be the President, but she just might get Obama his second term.

True. Many people are talking third party. Hello, Ross Perot.
It would only damage the conservative cause and assure a second term for the Bamster.

We can have a Independent Conservative Movement within the Republican party...

You have to start somewhere.

Here in California, the Republican party is dead. The Governator is a joke.

In Washington it is totally corrupt. If you were strip the dead wood what would be left?

Considering what The One is doing, a good chunk of the public may be read for real change.

Building a political party is a remarkably complex undertaking.

No one was talking about a third Party. What she is doing is pushing a nation Conservative agenda beyond usual politics of parties and elected offices.

It's about bringing Conservatism back as a force.

Nowhere was it suggested that she runs a "third party".

The threat of a conservative third party would force Republicans to the right or face extinction.

But frankly I’m tired of leftest and leftest lite. There’s no future there.

“Would it not be more efficient to use the existing Republican infrastructure...”

OPINION: No.

We’ve be trying this now for quite awhile and that is how we got Dole and McCain.

To put it another way, it’s like reusing a bandaid. The first time you use a bandaid it usually sticks on quite well. If you take off the bandaid and attempt to reuse it; the sticking power is just not there.

My .5 cents on the subject.

As I've said on other Palin threads, I think she can get some good people into office come 2010. Plus, she builds her base and puts some IOU’s in the bank.

What I think is needed is a “New Contract With America” such that the ideas she can express at a gut level nationalize the 2010 and 2012 cycles.

As the saying goes “When the student is ready, the teacher will arrive”. I think we are all about ready to hear the truth and I think Sarah will not hesitate to tell us the truth!

McCain in '08, and a small (but infernally pesty) clot of Mittbots attempting to gull conservative voters into lining up obediently behind Mister Mittcare in '12. Republicans voting for TARP; voting for (sh)amnesty; voting for cap-and-trade.

Sarah couldn't possibly do anything more to "damage the conservative cause" (*snort*) than the Republican party has done, and pig-headedly continues TO DO, right here, right now, without the least little bit of assistance from her, thank you.

The only thing that can genuinely "guarantee a second term" for Obama would be for the eternally clueless "moderate"/squish Republicans to attempt shoving yet another demonstrably non-conservative nominee (Mittens, Crist, etc.) down our collective gullets once more -- the exact same strategy, in other words, as the one that ended up giving us Obummer just last year! Thanks, but no thanks.

PALIN 2012! GO SARAH!!!

force Republicans to the right

Exactly. If the GOP doesn't want to succumb, they will have to move RIGHT. They have been drifting lefwards since Reagan left office.

Palin is the force that is able to do that.

“Building a political party is a remarkably complex undertaking”

I don’t think that’s her goal is it? Sounds to me that she wants to build a movement that spans across parts of both parties, rather than an additional party.

It's also a really good way to get yourself a whacking good fulminating infection, something like methycillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.

Or in other words, say goodnight, Gracie.
