As Mark Finkelstein reported on Newsbusters on the 7th, MSNBCs David Shuster made a rather interesting comment about Chelsea Clinton as he was hosting Tucker that evening. Shuster asked if Hillary Clintons use of her daughter on the campaign trail seemed like Chelseas sort of being pimped out in some weird sort of way? Well, NBC has now announced that theyve suspended Shuster over the comment . so much for free political speech.
In a press release, NBC says the following:
On Thursdays Tucker on MSNBC, David Shuster, who was serving as guest-host of the program, made a comment about Chelsea Clinton and the Clinton campaign that was irresponsible and inappropriate. Shuster, who apologized this morning on MSNBC and will again this evening, has been suspended from appearing on all NBC News broadcasts, other than to make his apology. He has also extended an apology to the Clinton family. NBC News takes these matters seriously, and offers our sincere regrets to the Clintons for the remarks.
Both the Clinton and Obama campaigns accepted invitations from us on Thursday evening to participate in a February 26th debate. Our conversations with the Clinton campaign about their participation continue today, and we are hopeful that the event will take place as planned.
Of course, Shusters comment seems quite mild compared to say Randi Rhodes radio skit that said that Romney supporters would go on mass murder sprees, or that conservatives will kill Hillary as Chris Matthews said on the 8th or just about anything that the women on the View say at any given time. Not to mention the horrible things that liberal TV hosts have said about Rush Limbaugh or any conservative figure.
So, where are all the suspensions of liberal TV hosts who attack conservative candidates or personalities? Can you name one?
And, it is also interesting that Hillary has gotten into such a faux outrage over this particular comment. No one hearing that comment would imbue it with a sexual meaning. Shusters comment is completely understood to mean that he thought the Clinton campaign was using her daughter in a cheap way, but no one imagines it to have a sexual connotation at all. In fact, there isnt even any real way to misconstrue the comment into a sexual innuendo on Shusters part. It just isnt too hard to get his point at all.
Is Hillary that thin skinned?
Worse, why did the TV giant bend over so easily and suspend Shuster for this little comment when they let so many vile slams on conservatives go by without so much as a raised eyebrow?
In fact, MSNBC makes their biggest name caller a center of attention, dont they? After all, not long ago the Cable station said that Keith Olbermann formed a focal point for their new leftward tilt.
So, suspend someone who says a somewhat off color comment about a leftie, but encourage and reward those who viscously attack conservatives.
Thats the MSM for ya!
ping
Well yeah, because Chelsea’s mom was challenging Obama. Go to hell Shuster.

EXCERPT
Schuster did not call Chelsea a “nappy haired hoe.” He criticized the Clintons for using Chelsea in a weird sort of way for being “pimped out” by her parents. Pimped out is a phrase that means exploited to most. In urban vocabulary it actually is complementary. If Schuster had used “exploited” instead of “pimped out”, his analysis would have been more mainstream. Although his choice of words was not good, his point was arguably valid. Clearly Schuster was referring to the Clinton campaign people and not attacking Chelsea.
Shuster can call one president’s kid a whore in one breath, then in another condemn some anonymous, possibly drunk, internet poster for doing the same thing... Shuster must find comments like this because this kind of talk is very familiar to him as it comes out of his own mouth.
right, sure they defended him.. even though he has a history of foot in mouth disease. .. as I’ve been saying, the real story here is the media (as always).
Just who hires these whackos at msnbc? They’re literally raving lunatics. Maddow, Olbermann, Shuster, Ed what’s his name.
This is just the tip of the iceberg for MSNBC and Shuster.. it would be interesting if we had a FReeper group to watch them like Media Matters does to Rush.. turnabout anyone?
I've considered this at times...
What would it take to make this happen? First, we need FReepers who could stomach (and has the time) to watch MSNBC with TIVOs, daily live thread, Big Dog’s and Mod’s OK of course..
I could do Morning Joe most of the time but that's about it.
What's funny is that at the time of that maroon's "pimping" remark, I hadn't a clue who he was--and I'm a political animal. He's just part and parcel of bottom-feeder-rated MSNBC, which is why most of the viewing public didn't know who he was and doesn't care, and who now has a "name" for himself solely for his Hillary "PIMPING CHELSEA" blatherings.
And now MSNBC is indignant? This is a joke, no?
Then, in the “Hardball Sideshow” segment Shuster went off on Sarah Palin:
SHUSTER AFTER PLAYING CLIP OF LEVI JOHNSTON ON “THE TYRA BANKS SHOW”: Well Governor Sarah Palin, who apparently advocates abstinence instead of sex ed put out this statement in response to Levi, quote, “It is unfortunate that Levi finds it more appealing to exploit his previous relationships with Bristol than to contribute to the well being of the child.” Um, speaking of exploitation, Governor, isn’t that what you were doing with your family and Levi at the Republican Convention?

I guess Schuster=Shuster. LOL I don’t even care to know the correct spelling of this nobody, I guess.
Thanks!
Hillary was offering a date with Chelsea as a political prize of some sort.
If that is not pimping, what is?
just remember the winner of the date will need two bags
If Bill Clinton was our first black president (honorary), doesn’t that make Shuster a racist?
