If Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) and Rep. Heath Shuler (D-N.C.) are moderate Democrats, what kind of Democrat does that make President Barack Obama?
You can bet that the president wouldnt like the answer and with good reason. The increasingly regular use of the phrase moderate Democrat to identify the purple flank of the caucus is creating a rhetorical opening that could quickly turn into a more-than-moderate problem for the rest of the party.
What you dont want to do is to give the Republicans the fodder to be able to say, Yeah, weve got these moderate Democrats with us and then weve got these leftists, these socialists like Obama proposing these programs, says Drew Westen, a political psychology expert and author of The Political Brain.

Except for the part where he supports a pro-infanticide, pro-socialism President. I mean call me crazy but I don't think as a conservative I could support a pro-infanticide candidate.
The “moderate” Dems are starting to think about the 2010 elections. We are halfway through July so they realize time is flying. Maybe the stinking RINOs might start actinglike real repubs.
With both it looks like there are some good things.
Still when you get down to it, they are troublesome. One had a 60% ACLU approval and the other had a 45% ACLU approval.
Either of those figures bothers me when it comes to the ACLU.
Something on the order of 80 to 90% against would be more appropriate when it comes to the ACLU.
Well Notre Dame University a supposed “Catholic” university loves Hussein and infanticide.

Barack Obama is a Socialist. He wants to be a Communist but lacks the balls.
Doesn't equate.
These guys are just afraid that their seats are going back to the Pubs.
Very very good post exist,
Heath Shuler is my Congrescritter, and he voted FOR cap and trade, after he said he would oppose it.
I still think of Heath Shuler as the guy who sucked in the NFL.
Yes, he’s always high on the “top draft pick busts” lists I see from time to time.
Maybe they will start acting like real Republicans, but it won't get them my vote! I will remember their RINO behavior, and even Newt with his global warming cosey up to Nance Polutesie! That picture of the two of them sitting on the couch together will not go away in my mine.
Any Republican reaching across the isle like McCain can go into retirement from Congress! They will never get my vote! Now the DEMS who voted against Cap&Trade I would consider.
Snort!
Giggle!
Yeah. He's their "main squeeze."
What you dont want to do is to give the Republicans the fodder to be able to say, Yeah, weve got these moderate Democrats with us and then weve got these leftists, these socialists like Obama proposing these programs,
Whatever’s the truth is the truth, no matter what some sophisticated panicky chattering class liberal likes to whine about it!

Um No. I live in WNC and I can tell you the answer is unequivocally no. He votes conservative at the last minute when Pelosi says he can placate NC voters without costing her. He is a politician, all the way.
Isn’t moderate democrat oxymoronic?
So I guess that would mean he voted how his master Pelosi told him. Blue dogs are a bunch of frauds.
