Washington Times Has Now Updated Title from "EXCLUSIVE: Palin to stump for conservative Democrats"

ANCHORAGE, Alaska | Brushing aside the criticisms of pundits and politicos, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she plans to jump immediately back into the national political fray — stumping for conservative issues and even Democrats — after she prematurely vacates her elected post at month's end.

The former Republican vice-presidential nominee and heroine to much of the GOP's base said in an interview she views the electorate as embattled and fatigued by nonstop partisanship, and she is eager to campaign for Republicans, independents and even Democrats who share her values on limited government, strong defense and "energy independence."

"I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation," she said over lunch in her downtown office, 40 miles from her now-famous hometown of Wasilla — population 7,000 — where she began her political career.

There is NO doubt she will NOT be stumping for ANY Democrat.

Just like moronic FReepers claiming that Palin "quit" and therefore "hurt her chances" for 2012. Nevermind that she gave valid reasons why she is stepping down and never said anything about running for President. Just like she never said or indicated she is going to go 3rd party or work for Democrats. Some FReepers have become just as bad as the pundits and media.

Please keep an open mind, Conservativegreatgrandma—and it sounds like maybe you will—as I think her strategy will help to both move the Republicans to the right and get them elected more widely.

Why don't you just stick your head back in the sand, because it's quite obvious you have no intention on reading the excellent rebuttals posted to you and comprehending them. No, you're just like a friggin' kid who screams while a parent tries to reason with him.

What do you want me to do? Jump up and down and say Sarah is my man when I don't even know who is running--including Sarah.

Good grief, it's 3 1/2 years to the next election. There's no way I'm jumping on anyone's bandwagon now. It's way, way too early.

She said that she'd stump for those who share her ideas and values, regardless of party.

You can imagine that there aren't too many of that, and that the DNC will keep them from associating them with her in any way.

But what she does by saying this, is signaling the GOP that she isn't theirs.

Exactly.

"Republican Party of Iowa and Senator Grassley has been trying to get her to come here for a long time."

Long time? I think not, but I am certain Iowa will be seeing lots of Sarah soon. lol. I used to really like Senator Grassley hope he is not going wobbly on us. Have not followed him for a while. Is he still a solid conservative?

Hey, a lot of (actually too many) democrats have crossed over to the Republican party...unfortunately they aren't "conservative"

We have RINO why not DINO?

I say go for it Sarah!

I'm the one with the open mind. It is certain Freepers who do not have an open mind. I don't know how anyone can be this sure of anything this far in advance of the time needed to make a decision.

Some people just don’t understand Sarah. They look at what she does and what she says and they say “Wow is she crazy?” No she isn’t crazy, she is different, she is different then any politician I have ever seen, which is why I like her. She is not a conventional politician, she does things her way, she has done things her way her entire life, and has been successful.
As far as the GOP being supportive of Sarah like someone above said, gotta be kidding me right. The GOP abandoned Sarah a long time ago. Even Michael Steele says “Take 2012 off the table” then comes back after being criticized for saying that, backtracks and says “You are misunderstanding what I said” The same GOP that came out against Rush, the same GOP that supports Colin Powell, the same Colin Powell who supported Obama and said that Americans want Bigger Government, these days, I can’t tell a GOPer from a Democrat, they all look the same to me.

That statement I can agree with, NO ONE knows what is gonna happen in 2012, in fact, I don’t believe she is running for President in 2012, just my opinion, I think she is gonna try to fix the GOP first, and see what happens next. If we take back the Senate, she may run for Senator, who knows what is gonna happen. Not even Sarah herself knows, Presidency is not her priority right now, I think her main priority is trying to fix this broken party

Wow. I am only halfway through this thread and already used up all of my fingers and toes twice counting the insults hurled at each other.

I stand with Sarah and believe that her actions of the last week have been brilliant for many reasons that have been stated over and over. She has something up her sleeve for sure. We will learn in due time what it is. I think she is signaling a run for 2012 but that could just be my reading the tea leaves the way I want the story to go.

The only thing that is certain is that early to mid spring 2012, there will be a nominee for the GOP and that person will be our only hope to get rid of Zero...third parties do not win. We can say things and call names over the net that we would be far too smart to say in person. This will only serve to really turn others against your man or woman which is not going to help anyone come fall 2012.

I would think that if the are DUmmies or Kos kids lurking on this tread that they are having a rather jolly time watching this virtual mud slinging contest with each other.

This has been discussed a long time before she said she was resigning. I have no knowledge of her accepting anything. I know the invitation was extended a long time ago.

Grassley isn't perfect but by gosh, he's pretty darned good and I'm glad he's in the Senate. I'm proud to call him my senator just as I'm proud to call Steve King my congressman and to show you the radicalness of some Freepers, the other day, even Congressman King was being called a RINO by some Freepers. They're never going to find a better congressman than King.

Jump up and down and say Sarah is my man when I don't even know who is running--including Sarah.

That's not the point - you're completely ignoring what she is doing in regards to the upcoming mid-terms. She is separating conservatives from non-conservatives, and she will only support those Democrats who share her vision. It's not about party affiliation anymore or GOP vs Democrats.

A good number of Democrats in Congress and Americans in general DO NOT support Obama's leftist agenda, Democrats ran in 2006 and were elected as conservative blue-dog Democrats. If Palin can get these people to flip to her, then more power to her and we can worry about the details later. If not, then no doubt she'll support other conservative candidates and destroy the Democrats completely.

Yep. Either the Democrats will remain the hard-core leftists that they are and go down in defeat against conservative challengers, or they'll support Palin and force the GOP to stop running RINOs and become more conservative.

Then why is it that so many go ballistic if someone says they're skeptical about Sarah's decision to offer herself to stump for Democrats? I am greatly bothered by it and she's going to have a darned good explanation but I'm not putting her clear off my list yet. There is too far to go.

I have an open mind. It is certain Freepers whose minds are closed.

Don't feel bad, my congressman Ron Paul was tarred and feathered here at Free Republic. lol. Keep an open mind about Sarah, a lot of us really like her, she is a breath of fresh air and honest plain speaking politician, rare commodity these days.

Wouldn't that be nice. I'll take it, if she can do it and if that's what she wants to do but if she in any way helps to elect another RAT to congress, she will have lost so much respect, I will not support her.

Because the most important word is IF, IF she finds a Conservative democrat that shares her beliefs. She knows she isn’t gonna find one. I’ll send her 1000 bucks if she finds ONE so-called Conservative Democrat who shares her vision of pro-life, smaller government, pro gun movement. That isn’t gonna happen. I think she just said it to be unconventional, to send a message to the GOP. She knows the GOP is against her, she knows what will happen if the GOP still keeps embarking on this path. I think she is trying to “Shake things up” as she has done all her life and is trying to send them a clear message
