Washington Times Has Now Updated Title from "EXCLUSIVE: Palin to stump for conservative Democrats"

ANCHORAGE, Alaska | Brushing aside the criticisms of pundits and politicos, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she plans to jump immediately back into the national political fray — stumping for conservative issues and even Democrats — after she prematurely vacates her elected post at month's end.

The former Republican vice-presidential nominee and heroine to much of the GOP's base said in an interview she views the electorate as embattled and fatigued by nonstop partisanship, and she is eager to campaign for Republicans, independents and even Democrats who share her values on limited government, strong defense and "energy independence."

"I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation," she said over lunch in her downtown office, 40 miles from her now-famous hometown of Wasilla — population 7,000 — where she began her political career.

>>That’s not true. My dad is a Conservative Democrat of the Truman mold.

Truman was a conservative?

LOL. Was he conservative when he pushed for national health care and federal housing projects, expanded Social Security, took control of steel mills, and vetoed Taft-Hartley?

I still think a Sarah Palin - Liz Chaney ticket would be just the dynamite needed to blow the dems out of their 2012 seats, metaphorically speaking.

Last I heard, McCain was “undecided,” and Graham was saying that he could “see” himself voting for her.

The fact that John McCain is “Undecided” about voting for this racist shows me all that I need to know. Lindsey Graham, well, what a shock, he can “see” himself voting for her. OK so all of the GOP lovers out there, you still say this is the GOP you want Sarah to fight for. I want Sarah to throw out the damn trash and help fix this party. The GOP I am sorry to say is the Democratic Lite party

From the article:

"I'm not ruling out anything — it is the way I have lived my life from the youngest age," she said. "Let me peek out there and see if there's an open door somewhere and if there's even a little crack of light, I'll hope to plow through it."

She looks like she is willing to abandon her principles for another speaking fee.

Another speaking fee? Are you calling her a liar? She never got a speaking fee while being Governor, and today specifically stressed this.

You are slandering her along MSM/liberal lines.

Also it's funny to read you mentioning "principles"... LOL! Your principle is blind obedience to the RNC... have you even bothered checking the Congressional Roll Calls? Lot's of Republicans voting for socialist/Obama bills.

Conservatism TRUMPS party affiliation. But some are too dense to see that.

>>My township supervisor is one, not that its any of your damned business.

I do not doubt that they exist at the local level. For a Democrat to be even nominated for national office and retain a conservative ideological position is nearly impossible. Larry MacDonald may have been the last true conservative Dem who did not eventually switch parties (but then, he probably died before he could).

Don’t get too upset, she probably started crying when Arlen Spector left the GOP and thinks that Lindsey Graham and Charlie Crist are wonderful for the GOP

I have to go watch Life Is Sweet take on the boys in the Hollywood Gold Cup. Sure hope she wins. But before I go one small observation.

Conservatives or even Republicans giving Sarah crap over this are the same old can't see the forest thru the trees folks that get us into trouble time and time again. I guess it is "inside the beltway" syndrome. They are confusing tactical decisions with strategy.

True this would be a poor tactic should Sarah not simultaneously be employing an entirely different strategy to empower a conservative agenda in the USA. I can only guess at her strategic plan, I doubt anyone out side her inner circle knows that, even more likely it is a work in progress however one thing seems clear. Sarah wants conservatives in elected office. Mind boggling that some conservatives here don't think that is a good thing!

At the very least conservative Democrats could slow down the march to Marxism that Marxist Democrats seem determine to take. At best conservative Democrats could split the Democratic party. My (rhetorical) question is whats wrong with that? Anyone?

One thing I know for certain, Sarah has seen the enemy, she is one of us and the enemy underestimated her. The enemy arrogantly thinks of her as just another unwashed, fly over country hick. A light weight soccer mom that by some miracle got elected governor of a back water red neck state. Well surprise surprise, this lady is smart, savy and determined to show the same courage in her fight that her son and thousands of other are showing fighting our enemies on forgien soil. I say more power to her.

Come on Life is Sweet beat the boys. Come on Sarah beat the "good ole boys". lol, see ya later.

The line about "tired of the partisan stuff"

Completely different context than how McCain was saying it.

Look, SolidWood, I never accused her of taking any speaking fees. I was talking in the future. There is the possibility that is what she is doing. You don't know she isn't. On the surface, this is not a smart move if she's planning on running for office.

Please stop worshiping Palin like she's a goddess. She is human. You don't know what's really going on, either.

As far as Republicans not being perfect, I know that. I also know the Republican party is FAR superior to the Democrat party and there are only two viable political parties. I choose to be a Republican and hopefully, this confusion can be cleared up satisfactorily but if Palin is selling out, she's no better than our worst Republicans. I'm willing to wait her out but for everyone who thinks she walks on water, you're in dangerous territory.

This isn't heaven.

"Look at the stimulus vote. Not one Republican voted for it. How many “conservative dems” did?"

Quite a few Republicans voted for the Bush stimulus. Republican Stimulus good, Democrat Stimulus bad? That will be a hard sell to John Q Public.

Hey hey! What gives you the impression that I am "worshipping her like a goddess"?

It's sad that enthusiasm and support are villified as "idol worship".

You think I have a shrine of St. Sarah were I pray to her?

Don't be silly... I have a Temple!/sarc

I don’t worship Sarah Palin, worship is for Obama supporters who would jump off a cliff if he told them to. But from everything I have read and seen from Sarah Palin, what she is trying to do is send a message to the GOP to make a change. There is NO doubt she will NOT be stumping for ANY Democrat. I will bet my entire life savings on that. No Democrat is gonna call her, if anyone here believes that they will are living in a dream world. Yeah what every Dem wants, a Conservative woman coming to their rallies blasting their Messiah Obama, yeah that outta work out.
Sarah is human, she has made mistakes, she is not perfect, which is why I like her. She doesn’t come out and say she is the best damn thing since sliced bread. She is not a typical politician, I think we can all agree about that. She does things outside the box, unconventional as some might say.
As far as her making money, if she was all about the money she would have remained Governor and collected her paycheck. She was hemorrhaging money because of the Dems who are filing these bogus ethics complaints against her to force her out of office. She is already gonna make about 7 million on that book she is writing. She isn’t about the money, she is about making a POINT, she is about Conservatism and that’s it

Look, I've liked her, too but as far as a viable presidential candidate, I need to give this more time. It's too early to jump on any bandwagon right now. You can never find one instance of where I have said I don't like her.

I just think it's too early to come to any conclusions.
