ANCHORAGE, Alaska | Brushing aside the criticisms of pundits and politicos, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she plans to jump immediately back into the national political fray stumping for conservative issues and even Democrats after she prematurely vacates her elected post at month's end.
The former Republican vice-presidential nominee and heroine to much of the GOP's base said in an interview she views the electorate as embattled and fatigued by nonstop partisanship, and she is eager to campaign for Republicans, independents and even Democrats who share her values on limited government, strong defense and "energy independence."
"I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation," she said over lunch in her downtown office, 40 miles from her now-famous hometown of Wasilla population 7,000 where she began her political career.

McCain hasn’t demonstrated what it takes to make it happen. Too long in the beltway vortex.

There is no such thing as a pro-life Democrat congressman. Evidently many people on FR do not understand how the committee process works and the absolute necessity of Republicans gaining control of at least one house of congress.
A so-called "pro-life" Democrat is useless in the majority. It is impossible to advance one single piece of pro-life legislation when RATs control the committees. It is folly to even consider the fact there is ANY value in a "pro-life" Democrat in the majority.
If these hypocrites cared about the issue, they would be Republicans. Trust me on this. I've been there. I've worked with these people and I know what I'm talking about.
This is a very bad strategic move on the part of Palin unless there's more to the story than this.

I think the Palinphiles are mostly remnants of Buchanan's pitchfork brigade. You have no idea who we supported last time. I was a proud FredHead. Still am. If Sarah picked him for VP I'd be jumping up and down. Who did you support last time around?
The term Palinphile. Is that derived from pedophile? If so that's pretty low.

So, Sarah will be doing a “McCain” then?
Sarah is a member of the GOP and, therefore, should campaign for GOP members only.
To: SolidWood
I know of one - Bob Casey. There might be others. How about Gillebrand of NY?Dont trust the ACU. Its head is a supporter of Romney and contributor to Arlen Specter
David A. Keene's dopiness about Sarah aside, Casey IS a liberal 90% of the time. His liberal voting record is correctly documented at the ACU.
If Sarah were to campaign for Casey it would be a big mistake and I don't expect her to.

Palin must not understand how important it is for Republicans to gain a majority.
Oh, she understands it. Not only that, she knows how to do it. You might avail yourself of a little humility and consider for a moment that she might be smarter than you and more effective at getting things done.

The Palin supporters here don't get it. They might not side with Obama at times on the 3 issues Palin has expressed (funny she did not mention Pro-Life as well) but they will certainly vote for Sotomayor for SC Justice and vote WITH the dems on many other issues, particularly those close to the heart of cultural conservatives. Never, NEVER give the dems an inch.

her ideas and values, Wonder what they are??It's not my problem if you are too lazy or detached to pay attention to her during and after the campaign... or just reading the article at the top.

Palin Democrats ~ Reagan Democrats?

So far, you’re the first Freeper to recognize this for the danger it is. Thank you for thinking this through.

” her ideas and values,

Yes, I want to hear more from her. Hopefully, she’ll start talking about the issues so we know what she really thinks. It’s time!

The more conservative Dems get taken out in the primaries by the liberal Democrat machine. She will help the more conservative Democrats in the primaries. This strategy will turn the Democrat primaries into a blood bath. Excellent point!

Please, think about what you posted. You have to be kidding. Do you really believe any RAT will advance any issue you may claim to care about. I am shocked how so many are worshiping Palin to the point they’ve turned off their critical thinking.
To: staytrue
Hello Palin Koolaid drinkers... If McCain had said exactly the same thing, what would have been your reaction ?Hello knuckledragger. McCain didn't say it so whatever inane point you're trying to make is negated. Palin is not doing anything different than Reagan would have. If that unsettles you, to feckin bad.

But the question was about pro-life Democrats, not about how conservative they are. I know that Casey fits that bill.Yes. I stand corrected.
To: fish hawk
"It's really nice to meet some one that knows everything. " I never claimed to know everything, but I certainly know that it's always a bad idea for people who claim that they're conservative to campaign for Democrats, always.
As for the "something personal" I have a very simple rule, if you won't make it personal with me, I will respond in kind. I wont engage in ad hominem attacks, but I will respond in kind if attacked.
