Uh, no.
I will eat four now because you told me not to.
Shame on you. MYOB.
Let’s make a list of things you can live without. What’s good for the goose...
********************
No one could possibly have escaped this message. People have a right to eat what they want. For now, at any rate.
I haven’t had a donut in so many years it would seem like a totally new experience.
You seem to have missed my point completely. Gluttony is gluttony, whether you choose to cram yourself with sushi or with donuts. Also, there is no reason to think that sushi is lower in fat/calories than a donut. It all depends on the ingredients and how it's prepared. Are you stuffing your sushi with avocados and cream cheese? Brushing the fish with sesame oil? Oops, your fat content just skyrocketed. Rice isn't exactly low-cal, either. Soy sauce is very high in sodium. Assuming you are not adding high-fat ingredients to your sushi, consuming strictly low-fat foods can leave you feeling hungry and cause you to consume more calories overall than if you would have just consumed a moderate amount of high fat food. Fish may have high levels of mercury, depending on when and where it was harvested. Etc. Etc.
Folks this feel good stuff is going to drive me up the wall. Where is it going to end?
Hey, this is America, that is your choice, your right, go for it. While you can.
” You seem to have missed my point completely. Gluttony is gluttony, whether you choose to cram yourself with sushi or with donuts. “
Eating 12 doughnuts in one sitting is gluttony . Eating 12 pieces of sushi is not . When one orders a set in a Japanese sushi restaurant one gets 8 pieces which is the standard . Many Japanese will just order individual plates of 2 pieces at the counter . Not unusal to see a person order 5-6 plates .
“Are you stuffing your sushi with avocados and cream cheese? Brushing the fish with sesame oil? Oops, your fat content just skyrocketed. “
Avocados ? Cream cheese ? Sesame oil ? That is the AMERICAN version of sushi my friend . Nobody eats that over here ; not with sushi anyway .
Health benefits of eating sushi are:
- no cholesterol
- no unhealthy fats
- lots of Omega-6 healthy fatty acids
- lots of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals
- rice is a natural source of zinc, a mineral which boosts your immune system
- the nori sheets (seaweed) contain many valuable sea minerals and also antioxidants
- good nutritional value and protein content from the rice and the fish
- fish contains lots of vitamin E, which reduces the risk of cardio-vascular disease and lowers your cholesterol
- the health risks of eating raw fish are smaller than that of eating cooked chicken or beef
- because of the above reasons, sushi is not fattening as some other kinds of fast food
So there ! : )
I thought so, otherwise you'd see how contemptuous you sounded with your statement.
Anyway, there's no way of knowing how smart or not smart people are, and it's irrelevant anyway. Every man deserves the dignity of making his own choices, however stupid they may be, and facing the unfettered consequences of them. That is the freedom and liberty that this country stands for.
The fact that Obama ; Pelosi ; Barney Frank ; Henry Waxman ; etc. etc...are in power proves me right !
That is a point well taken, I must admit !
But I think that's because they don't get on the internet and do their homework- probably more due to laziness than stupidity. But I could be wrong of course. And it's too bad that we're all going to have to share in the consequences of that decision.
People are dumber and more ignorant than they were 25 years ago when nobody had internet access but still voted for Reagan in a landslide THAT’s for sure . No doubt lazier as well .
You eat relish on your donuts?
Anti-health downside of eating sushi:
1) raw fish could be infested with nematodes, bacteria, etc.
2) pollutants in the water bioaccumulate in the fish
3) being highly allergic to some kinds of fish, I risk becoming severely ill from eating it. Not fun.
You strike me as an orthorexic. Being obsessed about what is “good for you” really isn’t healthy. You should eat a balanced diet for health, but don’t deprive yourself of treats.
Here's another real winner for the taxpayers:
The mayor is also ordering all city departments to help locate vacant or unused city-owned land that could be used to grow food.
There is plenty of cheap food in the markets, moron! Sell the damn land to someone who'll get it on the tax roles, you freakin' fascist bastard. Sell a couple of parks to developers.
WTF!
Thanks for the ping, Eric.
sushi is NOT healthy. It can make you SICK.
I guess that explains why Japanese have longer life spans than Americans . Not that they eat it every day mind you . 1-2 times a month would be average . Unlike some Americans who eat doughnuts 3-4-5 times a week .

Anything you’d like to add to the list.
Americans are stupid and or ignorant .
But not you, of course, just the doughnut eaters.
Personally, raw fish is a huge hazard.
I’m all for banning uncooked fish.
