Obama is tanking in the polls, the stimulus is failing and they just caught him on camera leering at a 17 year old girl. Time for AP to do a little Bush bashing.

The difference is that under Bush, these surveillance programs were meant to PROTECT the American people from terrorists whose goal was to to cause death and destruction Under Obama, the surveillance programs will be used AGAINST the American people in order to suppress those who protest against his administration.

Ahhhh! The five Inspectors General.

That explains Gerald Walpin. Send a warning shot across the bow of IG’s and then a consensus, almost like global warming, of a secret surveillance program.

I really wonder what IG revelations are yet to come.

Somehow I doubt that the importance of the information gleaned from the surveillance is unclear. Zero’s Admin and his willing accomplices in Big Media would NEVER give any credit of any kind to GWB. Disgusting.

How many guns do you have and where do you keep them. The ACORN census wants to know.

The NSA has been spying on emails and phone conversations since Clinton. In my years as a lurker here in the late 90s, I read some good threads about it. I didn’t support it under Clinton, I didn’t support it under Bush, and I don’t support it now.

Just another ploy to keep us focused on the wrong items. Usually called a ‘smoke screen’.And Obama is blowing lots of smoke these days.

Hey, I’ve got a great idea.

To distract voters from the fact that OMOSLEM IS BANKRUPTING THE UNITED STATES, let’s hold show trials of CIA officials, and splash top-secret programs across the front page of newspapers.

While Omoslem funds Hamas with another $900 million donation of OUR MONEY.

Obama, Al Gore, and their buds are selling this nation out as fast as they can...

...and now we're supposed to investigate Bush.  LMAO  This guy sure has a little teeny set of 'em doesn't he.

The following is directed to Freepers who haven't donated or signed up for monthlies yet...

18% is good.  100% is better.  You know you're going to do it.  Pull the trigger!  You don't have to pay it all now.  $5 now, $25 next week, $10 later... keep the ball rolling.

Monthly donorship is a good way for us to avoid having to do the Freepathons.  Besides, it's a great way to pony up in style.
If you're on the verge of becoming a monthly donor or you think you would like to up your monthly donation a bit, has Jim got a deal for you.
Check this out.  There's an added incentive for a limited time only.  (Always wanted to type that...)

Thanks to Freepers who have been frequenting the Freepathon thread to ham it up with folks over there.  It helps to raise the visibility of the Freepathon.

Jump into the Monthly Donorship special thread too.

The Spirit Of Allegiance says, "For those about to donate, I salute you!"  So do I.

So the Democrats getting ready to expose more classified material in the New York Times, and then wonder why they aren’t trusted with classified material.

The ultra-liberal media in our country is going to be totally at fault when our country crashes. They continue to bash President Bush while the current occupant of the White House is turning our nation into a commie state.
If the media was doing an impartial job, Zero would never have been elected.
If zero was a republican doing what he’s doing, the media would have driven him out of office by now.

“the unprecedented anti-terrorism program”

Really? No precedent in Hoover’s FBI? Or Kennedy and Nixon’s justice departments? Or Wilson and FDR’s homefront war efforts?

Tell the Government Czar every detail regarding your intimate medical concerns. Tell him what you eat and what you do. Urinate at his command. Account for every penny that comes in and every penny you spend. Obama wants to know. Give your credit card to a waiter. Undermine national security to spite Bush. Click every sucker link on the net.

It’s all arbitrary BS. Nothing matters. People running in random directions, wailing, gnashing, catching fire as everyone rides along with the planet from Hell as it spirals to its doom.

I KNEW there was a reason I have felt violated for the past several years. And here I thought it was alien invaders who kidnapped me, and subjected me to a round of anal probes, the way they always do.
Now I know it was Bush’s secret surveillance....this kind of jive innuendo reportage is yet another classic expression of the Left accusing Bush of fulfilling the kind of programmatic prying that is their own heart’s desire. See, first they have to accuse Bush of doing it, so they can do it with impunity themselves, as a “corrective”, and out of motivations of nothing more than “self-defense”.

The portion of Yoo's memo that has them all nutted up is summarized in the Washington Post story (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2289870/posts) as follows:
In that memo, Yoo concluded that the FISA law could not "restrict the president's ability to engage in warrantless searches that protect the national security" and that "unless Congress made a clear statement in FISA that it sought to restrict presidential authority to conduct warrantless searches in the national security area -- which it has not-- then the statute must be construed to avoid such a reading," according to the report.
OK, let's see what the FISA Court of Appeals had to say on the subject of whether FISA could restrict the president's ability to engage in warrantless searches to protect national security:
The Truong court, as did all the other courts to have decided the issue, held that the President did have inherent authority to conduct warrantless searches to obtain foreign intelligence information. ... We take for granted that the President does have that authority and, assuming that is so, FISA could not encroach on the President's constitutional power.
The president does have inherent constitutional authority under his Article II powers to conduct warrantless searches on matters of national security and this is at its zenith with regard to a foreign enemy that has already launched a mass casualty attack on civilians on US soil. FISA is a mere statute, and cannot constitutionally restrict the President's Constitutional authority. This is true no matter who is president.
